New Year?s Resolutions! (NYR)

#8171Post 1 of 47

It is this time of year again when we make personal goals for next year. Myself, I never understood why January 1st has to be that date. Having said that I am a big sucker for the NYR, for once it is good to have goals in life and secondly makes a great topic of conversation in the office. There also negative side to the NYR, overcrowded gyms the first couple weeks of January, a lot of agitated people around you because they are forcing changes on themselves. And the biggest one for the most would be realizing that you failed once again by February 1.

Well he is my resolutions for next year.

 1. Reduce pot consumption to 1 time biweekly.
 2. Stop drinking diet coke.
 3. If the first one works go back to school in September to start working on my masters degree in finance.
 4. Read more.
 5. Watch TV less.
 6. Be more sociable.

The first one is the most important. Last year I have lasted about 6 weeks. However, last year I did quit cold turkey. Maybe 2005 will be the Year to remember.

Re: New Year?s Resolutions! (NYR)

I've been clean for over 2 years now, and let me tell you, I think more clearly than I ever have. I smoke some danka every once in a while, but besides that, I'm all alcohol.

Furk drugs.

NYR = pay bills.

#328909Post 5 of 47

^cosmo, I'm right there with ya dude... minus any smoke at all

I'm going to try to be a post-whore for 2005.

I`m gonna make sure that this year i finish some of these damn tracks i keep starting. I must have at least 40 that are incomplete.

#328916Post 8 of 47

^^ hehe, know the feeling. I've lots of tracks I'm working on ... but it's so damn difficult to finish one single track. Seems like I always lose inspiration when I'm half way.

It really pisses me off so this year i intend on finishing at least 1 of them. I don`t know about you but i start with a build up and then get into the meaty bit but then i think of another idea and start anothe one.

Re: New Year?s Resolutions! (NYR)

one more thing i forgot

#7. stop hating canadians :D

shit it is my #100 post, buyayaaa!

#328921Post 11 of 47

I always start with the build up and first part untill the first break ... but then it's over: I never find a good build up towards the second part and an original climax for it. Sometimes I forbid myself to put my inspiration in a new track and use it in the track I'm working on ... but nothings helps

But ok, I suppose that's a discussion for the mercurypromote forum

Word. I haven't smoked since December 13th, 03. I guess you can count that as 'smokin every once in a while'. Or can you? I pretty much think I'm done.

I have been puffin on cigars as of late, with beer. Nicotine rushhh.

#328939Post 13 of 47

I really only have one resolution, which is to lose weight. Included in this I want to completely stop drinking any kind of soda (regular or diet) period.

#328940Post 14 of 47
which is to lose weight.
Same here man. Gotta lose some kilo's for sure! All I do is EAT EAT EAT these days.Disgusting really. Gotta start sniffing again. :P

Haven't smoked at all for at least the past year. I hate the shit now, it makes me paranoid and uncomfortable now. It changed me after I quit for the first month, so it was a lot easier to quit for good.

Beer!

#328957Post 16 of 47

NYR?... I don't need any. I'm perfect.

Seriously:

Start working really hard on my phd... get some grants, start research, etc.

Make all my plans for the coming year come true.

That is:
1. Go to Ghana for 7 months
 2. Start up an investment plan, which is gonna make me and Africa rich
 3. See how far I can get with my mixing skills before I leave
 4. Get my study going like a rocket again
 5. Get myself a really hot babe
 6. Buy a Canon EOS 300D and start finding out if photography is my thing (I already know it is, just have to develope skills)

And last but not least: Develop a brilliant plan to save this planet from falling apart.
It's doable, I'm sure.

#329048Post 21 of 47

^ good luck. You've got about 4 things up there that most people don't do in a lifetime. Oh, and add me to your getting-people-rich-with-me list.

Re: New Year?s Resolutions! (NYR)

 1. Travel to at least 2 new places.
 2. Get myself a real j-o-b
 3. Cut back a little on the booze (which should happen if I acheive #2)
 4. Start producing (why the hell not?)
#329104Post 24 of 47

My NYR - Don't fail college. I pretty much fucked my first semester(hey, doesn't everyone?), and wasted my money(I had to pay for it).

I've thought about quitting cigs, but they're too god damn addictive(and rewarding for that matter).

#329131Post 31 of 47

Hm...well...you're not on the UN list of countries that can apply for development fundings. Can you fix that?

If this is working, I'm already having contacts in Benin, Ghana, Guatemala...Burkina Faso is a try out.

Man, I make resolutions all the time...

 • Tomorrow I'm gonna work out
 • Tonight I'm gonna get myself a chick
 • In 5 minutes I'm gonna kick this guys ass

Just some random everyday resolutions....

#329435Post 34 of 47

Re: New Year?s Resolutions! (NYR)

I guess that the most important thing is for people to actually want to achieve their resolution. I keep meaning to do more study, stop smoking etc but so far have not managed it which kinda suggests that they're not that important to me. That said both of those are my resolutions for '05!! btw Yao did you get a chick tonight :D

#329437Post 35 of 47

I have only one this year:

 • stop making resolutions!!
