When you're organizing your live sets on your hard drives, how do you label them? More specifically, how do you do the date?

How do you guys label your sets?
Re: How do you guys label your sets?
i usually do artist/date/venue/city/country:
Jimmy Van M - 2002-12-13 - Live at Advance Club, Guadalajara.mp3 Mo Shic - 2004-03-00 - Live At WMC, Miami, Fl.mp3 John Digweed - 1996-00-00 - Live at Club Firestone, Orlando, FL.mp3
or, if it's a radio show:
Hernan Cattaneo - 2004-01-31 - Resident.mp3 Shiloh - 2004-09-02 - Proton Radio - Electrofly 06 - September Mix.mp3
or, if it's a set played on a radio show:
Lonestar - 2004-07-21 - Proton Radio - Aesthetic Code
but i always to the date: year/month/day b/c i'm anal and i like to see the progression of an artist over time:
John Digweed - 1994-00-00 - Journey's By DJ - Volume 04 - Silky Mix John Digweed - 1995-00-00 - Renaissance - The Mix Collection - Part 02 John Digweed - 1997-00-00 - The Winning Ticket John Digweed - 2002-06-04 - MMII John Digweed - 2005-01-17 - Fabric 20
I put it in the "Music" folder, and I write whatever I feel like on the burned CD with a black sharpie.
example: john digweed_live in beirut (02-28-04) example: David Hasselhoff_Live in Moscow, Russia (07-04-04)
you get the idea.
example: David Hasselhoff_Live in Moscow, Russia (07-04-04)
I dont even bother to rename them to look the same anymore...I use to do them like:
2002-04-16 John Digweed @ Space, Miami.mp3
I dont really care anymore though ever since they were all taken away from me...tear
track number - artist - set or mix name DDMMYY.mp3
For my kiss sets, I keep them in folders of Kiss YYMMDD
I label them like that...
- John Digweed - Live@Kiss100 (Dec-19-2004).mp3
- Derek Howell - Live@Kiss100 (Dec-19-2004).mp3
or
Greg Benz - Live@Shine On Proton Radio (Oct-16-2003).mp3
its mostly like this:music/new/old/crap
i go: artist_-live_at(venue)_(country) if its a set
I put it in the "Music" folder, and I write whatever I feel like on the burned CD with a black sharpie.
I pretty much do this too...
getting an iPod has changed everything since you have to rename everything again in iTunes before you synch it...
example: David Hasselhoff_Live in Moscow, Russia (07-04-04)
are you sharing this one still?
I have his Live in Vegas 11-22-02
Haha David Hasselhoff :D Anyway, the reason I was asking is because I'm trying to find an effective way of labelling sets so that I can view them chronologically. I guess putting the year before anything would be ideal.
Re: How do you guys label your sets?
don't mess with The Hoff

all my proton radio shows:
2004-10-21 AUdio on Proton Radio-Part 1-Matthew Dekay-Live @ Sweetchilli, Sydney (09-11-04).mp3 2004-10-21 AUdio on Proton Radio-Part 2-Simon Bell.mp3 2004-11-18 AUdio on Proton Radio-Scott Oliver - Nov 2004 Promo.mp3 2004-12-16 AUdio on Proton Radio-Simon Bell - Dec 2004 Promo.mp3
all my kiss100:

yea but tahts just messing with the id3 info not the filename.
as for the filename, i just keep it the way i got it. too much effort into renaming shit and making it all perty. i dont particularly liek some ppls way of organizing. for example some person puts his nickname on every set he downloads so it makes it look like he recorded/encoded/ripped it himself (thezapper) so i just rename it and take his name out of the id3 info cuz i dont like fakers. as for jibby, his is kind of annoying also. with all those underlines and sh!t, i mean wtf? use a dash for christs sake brah. ejejejeej

whatever it says on the MS download page is the way it stays
I used to be well anal about filenames, but tis just too much hassle nowadays. As long as it shows up if i search for it evrything is fine.

no: (thezapper). yes: (thezzapper). i never heard of (thezapper). who is that fake? LOL
i find the easiest way is to do it is by putting the date like so... Danny Howells - Live @ Arc (March 27, 2004) part 4
that way if the day and month ever get confusing i figure it out and cacel the problem... cheers :Cheerz:
i load them up in iTunes and put them in a playlist for each artist
Re: How do you guys label your sets?
usually artist/venue/city/date or radio artist/show/date & label my dates as mm-dd-yy
Re: How do you guys label your sets?
Example: Lemon8 - Live @ Kristal Club Bucharest, Romania (24.04.2004) Lemon8 - Global DJ Broadcast @ Radio 93.1FM, South Florida (6.12.2004) ..........
