Anyone have an idea of what happened there? I didn't see him hit anything on the CDJs for Total Silence (tm) to start playing...
Yeah, DJs are human, but given that this guy demands an insanely high percentage of ticket price, he better be darned near perfect! Must DJ fails I see/hear lately are bad CDs and the CDJs rejecting em...spin them down and throw another one in, quick!
(cough Uh, I won't mention that Tiesto got me in to EDM, and that Just Be is one of my favourite EDM albums of all time cough) :oops:
Saw Armin Van Buuren at The Guvernment complex in Toronto Ontario three years ago, and he was flipping through CDs and the track just simply ran OUT. Ouch. He's been top notch lately though, as when I saw him at Bal en Blanc (White Party) in Montreal last year. Pounding trance beats with only a handful of melancholy melodies.

Yup, where the ch00n disolves into what "they call" 'uplifiting' melodic trance, but what my crew calls a 'trance hole'... where uplifting yet slightly saddening (for reasons we know not) vocals or melodies take you on an emotional trip you don't wanna go on--and yeah, chemical free!
Beware trance holes. Go for more empowering stuff that makes you want to dance... 8) Where's that signature I saw of someone 'too much ambient! too much!'...that describes how I feel about that super melodic stuff... great for chilling at home with a refresher, but not as a big room sound (imho, of course).

For some it's horrible, for some it's Heaven and for some, the music we like is utter crap. Different strokes for different folks. If Digweed would fall into his mixer, the 1st question here would be "Did he hurt himself..hope he is alright". Damn haters! :lol:

at space openin last summer in ibiza when sasha and digweed were b2b digweed pulled the wrong cable out the mixer. he was helpin the sound engineer out for next djs and sasha had just put destroy everything you touch on, could see he was sayin to digweed you'll pull wrong cable out the mixer. anyway did and the club fell silent- sasha had biggest grin on his face.

i'm just glad the camera wasn't on me when i gave a shitty lesson on ecology last week in my science class.
and yes, i like the melancholy side of trance along with tech house, prog house, techno, dub techno, dub prog?, and whatever sounds good.

I've had cdjs stop on me before more than once - people look at you thinking you've dropped a bollock whether you have or not, but you have to get on with it eh? Cdjs are no more than plastic boxes full of circuits and they don't give a shit who's playing them. I've found it's happened more often when they're hot.
