Partying with friends at someones home. I've given up on going out clubbing on NYE as it's total amatuer night in this city. Everyone just gets out of control!

I think that is the same no matter what city you are in on NYE. NYE is OK when you are 17 to 20 but after that there's no excitement.

Having been to the Torrey Pines Hilton for NYE in years past, I had fun...you have to go with a good group though... I would note that it sort of has a "prom dance" vibe to it, similar to other large scale Hotel ballroom events in and around Downtown/La Jolla on NYE..

IMHO, reserve a room at a smaller hotel in Del Mar, or find out what else is going on before committing to said event...

If I hear of any more intimate hotel parties (which I think are more fun), I'll let you guys know...

Never been there, but the party is outside across a few stages I believe.

BTW I was looking at your WMC pics and they are very similar to mine too. It seems like we were in the same places at the same time.

Never been a fan of NYE (prefer Xmas) .. everything's overpriced + there's a lot of once a year drinkers out that can't hold their ale !

So its a very quiet one, couple of drinks and an early night.
