"Yea, this survey lets you vote for who you want to mix the next Global Underground installment, be it City, DJ or Nubreed series. If you aren't happy with the selections already listed, you can write your own artist idea. There's a free download of a new mix by Trafik, by finishing the survey."

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

GU haven't made any great decisions in the last 5 years. I can't see that changing. They could of given Fanciulli a proper GU but instead they started yet another pointless spin off series. I'm more interested in Renaissance releases now, even when Renaissance try something different they still get it right.

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

Seriously WTF is running GU or handling this shit?

Just looking at the list of DJs provided, it's all over the place.

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

I think in the late 99 they should of maybe looked at doing something along the lines of the Back To Mine or Choice series using the DJ's that represented the GU brand, I know Digweed Howells, Seaman & Warren all did them (Back To Mine or Choice) Maybe it would of been interesting to see what people like Burridge, Sasha, Zabiela etc would come up with

It pretty much part of Ministry Of Sound these days. I don't know if this has a bearing on the poor releases:what

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

It's all greed. They should've stuck to what they did, pushing the sounds. People bought GU because of the music, not because they were GUs or because of the DJs. GU was dependable for setting standards, just like Renaissance, Balance or Fabric. I might not be familiar with or like some of the DJs but at least I know the quality is there.

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

Moshic!!! the guy never had a GU cd...however he`s one of the best underground producers...i know that GU is more interested in commercial stuff(which gets them more money of course) ...once they asked the Moshic abt this,he replied:''i guess im too underground for Global Underground''...

I would be interested in what you think the difference between commercial stuff & this underground people talk of.

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

I actually think Timo Maas would be a good choice for the next GU. He's definitely back on track with his productions, he's a big enough name to pull attention, and it would give GU and Timo a chance to somewhat redeam themselves for some subpar material released in the last few years. I think Timo is on form and this would be a very good opportunity for him to show it.

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

Back in 1999/2000 Timo could do no wrong in the UK, he was getting loads of exposure, loads of high profile gigs. Bizarrely all the cyberkids where going mad for him, then he just dropped off the map also like the cyberkids.

I don't suppose anyone has this promo by Timo

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

I would love to hear a new Sasha - Ibiza GU, but other producers/dj's that should make one:

 • 16 Bit Lolitas
 • Moshic
 • Derek Howell
 • Henry Saiz
 • Pole Folder
 • G-pal

I don't know if Joris Voorn matches the list. He's becomming famous, but his sound is becomming different. Have to say that I don't like most of his latest work instead of the earlier stuff I do like.

None then I can save myself some money;)

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

I'd be happy if GU used Nick Warren exclusively for every subsequent GU.

Almost every GU he's done has turned out to be the album of the year imo. And Lima & Reykjavik are two of my favorite compilations of all time!

#1303593Post 22 of 67

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

Danny Howells because every comp he's done has been fantastic.

#1303595Post 23 of 67

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

Ribbario

I'm serious, that would be more different and more interesting than any of the names mentioned above imo.

#1303596Post 24 of 67

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

I'd prefer them to break new ground with Martin Garcia or Moshic - failing that, Luke Fair

#1303600Post 25 of 67

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

Hernan Cattaneo.

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

How about the following suggestion that I stumbled across:

"GU - Bristol"

"That's an awesome idea. They could even do a four CD release like they did with Deep Dish, two Cd's with them together and then another CD just Nick and a CD just Jody. They could make it six and have a solo by Nick and a down tempo by Nick and a Solo by Jody and a down tempo by Jody."

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

A Dubfunk Nubreed would be just about perfect ! :D But I couldn't be bothered with that survey either ! It looks ad though they are just building up their mailing list ;

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

I would have to agree with Simon...Martin Garcia is the man for next GU.

#1303653Post 32 of 67

Re: Official Global Underground Survey: who do you want to mix the next GU?

Would go for Martin Garcia too, but that means having to do a tour and he does not seem to get out of Ar that much, my vote would go for Paolo Mojo, seen him a few times and plays a ton of great tracks.
