Does anybody know why Sasha was a no show in Toronto? They are fuming mad in TO.. Everyone is saying it is because he got to hammered in NYC the night before.

I drove 2 hours to see him & Digweed for the spring tour in 2008. Sasha was a no show, except we had Digweed to play the entire time instead, not a bad deal! I haven't cared for anything Sasha has done in a while anyway...

Yes, aparently he was "sick". I'm still pissed off at the man like for standing us up yet again. Such disrespect and a blatant I'm too hungover to show up for my gig. No apology on his website like last time or mention of it at all. I still love 'im though!

I remember on the Northern Exposure 2 tour he didn't turn up at Glasgow & Ringwood. Apparently he was busy working on his artist album. Shame it took another 5 years to get released.

Yeah Sasha and his "sickness". :roll: After the 2nd time he didn't come to a gig where I wanted to see him, I swore to myself that I will never go to one of his gigs again if I have to drive more than an hour for it lol.

i flew out from calgary (4 hour flight) for this show. i was pissed for about 10 min, then i realized i was happy to see digweed play for 5 hours.

club owners who book him need to put a cluse in his contract to fine him 20 grand like they did on the Delty Heavy tour.

A massive disappointment this must be for anyone who buys into the bullshit of dj celebrity in the first place if their night/weekend is ruined on the back of one man not showing up at the club to play.

I've never had a Sasha no show. I've had no shows from Nick Warren & Dave Seaman in the past. Nick Warren no shows seemed to get out of hand between 2001 to 2003 but to be honest I think this was due to his name being put on festival line ups that he wasn't booked for. I went to see Dave Seaman at Scream in Bristol back in 2002 and the promoter knew he wasn't playing and said nothing. It wasn't till we where in the club and had a few drinks we found out, they wouldnt give us no refund or anything. I was pissed off because if we had known straight away I would of drove to London to see Nick Warren at Turnmills:evil:

that's even worse if the promoter uses a dj's name in vain simply to promote his party. in most cases i would think it looks like the blame is on the dj probably, not the promoter. that's even lamER!

As he's called "the son of God" he should know he's held to a high standard. and how many times has this happened? From all the comments seems like quite a bit huh? and the fans in Toronto...twice in 2 years? Wave I love the guy just like you but this is unacceptable no matter how you look at it.:roll:

I think this just goes to show that Sasha hates Toronto. For it to happen twice in two years is no coincidence. Imagine being the owners of the Guv? They must be fuming. I don't see him getting booked for a long time in TO. He should come do a free show to win the fans back. Anything short of that I won't travel to see him.
I can't believe this thread has lasted this long without pictures of Sasha smashed... we are losing our touch here..:lol:

Sasha is the king of no shows and turning up late. He always has been even in the early days. Hes a promoters nightmare. His extended set a few years back at Ministry he turned up late and finished early. Not to mention the Cardiff incident.

if sasha is your favorite dj, then who says people are buying into this 'bullshit of celebrity dj'. these guys make it out to canada once every year or two. people who want to go see their favortie dj play will drive a few hrs to see it. its a massive piss off when he doesnt even make it, and we KNOW its not a legitamite excue. sorry, you don't know what you're talking about either on this one.

But as with any professional, we expect them to turn up to do their job. Jeez, plumbers have a better rep than this guy :lol:
Only professional no show for us was Dave Seaman , we got Chris Fortier instead, which was a good deal. !! I made a thread about it. Sasha did show up for his gig here in Nov 08. So, he's missed 2, made 1. Btw..I went to my fav T.O club, Footwork and saw Jimpster that night instead. It was alot of fun with good upbeat techy house, but not very close to what I REALLY wanted. Oil well, next time.
