it sucks because the club he's playing at, Pure, is so not an EDM venue, in fact they've never had a headliner there. Faarsheed used to play on the patio, but that's about it. Their setup and soundsystem is not very congruent to EDM... but it's still better than not having him.

So I just got back. All I have to say is that it was better than nothing. The music was great, but the venue and the sound system made it an average event. They had him play on the patio (if you've been to pure in vegas you know what i'm talking about), the place was not packed at all... When we got to the door it was dead. The sound system was worse than the boat cruise (per the Man himself) - i was in a cabana for a portion of the time and you could barely hear the music, at times the crowd was louder; Three played for about 30-45 mins but nobody knew who he was, and then... Sasha jumped on. No intro, straight into Beach Kisses and then for the rest of the night he played on CDJs. No Maven, no Ableton. CDJs. It was still a good night, got to see Sasha play but I doubt he will play again at Pure. Don't ask me which tracks he played: I'm the worst trainspotter; but I did recognize some tracks (when I could hear them) from Bora Bora and JJJ.

I can't wait to see him here on the 7th! I always have a fantastic time at his shows. A couple of years ago he was here for Halloween too, and it was awesome seeing the costumed crowd getting down to Sasha!! Wicked night for sure.

from what I've heard he didnt get to do a soundcheck because there was a banquet on the patio before the club opened and because of the setup he was having issues with his mac and/or maven. maybe he'll upgrade to win7!

From what I can remember, bunch of stuff off his recent mixes, tourist crowd, met plenty of global clubbers, not cool enough to hang with Dragos in the VIP, but he is quite the sharp dresser. I danced my ass off he went on around 1p and wrapped up at about 4. It was actually nice to see him do his thing in a crowd of 300, instead of the usual shoulder to shoulder larger events, the patio faces the strip and for those who embrace recreational drug use, it was rather interesting, overall, not the best place for a Tues night, but worth the effort and four hours of sleep before work today.

i saw zabiela last night and he's using the cdjs 2000. he travels with a pioneer designer and this guy told me sasha is using them as well. 1 laptop, 2 cdjs. zabiela was scrolling the tracks from his mac through the cdjs.

I was at the vegas gig. My friend knows one of the managers at Pure, he mentioned the private party before hand, so no chance for sound check. the Maven DID come out, but they couldn't get it set up or working for whatever reason, so sasha just spent the time between mixes burning cds:

Too wiped out from work, not sure who is town next week, as far as leaving Vegas Andy, smart move on your part, but I like to drink and hallucinate, no one really seems to mind that too much here, Cattaneo playing in LA in Dec so hopefully he might head Vegas way, really surprise the Wed at the Hard Rock has lasted so long, you tube some Sasha and Diggers vids from ICE, now that was a fun club, also chatted someone up about the 99 show of Sasha's at Utopia and how he played the whole next day at Spearmint Rhino, not much fun like that anymore around these parts, unless you like Kasade.
