Black Strobe Essential Mix

Has anyone heard this Essential Mix? Talk about a debut I wouldn't have expected, I had no idea what to expect when I decided to check it out but I'm very glad I did. I'd never even heard of these guys. Craig Richards, and Desyn have dropped my two favorite EM's this year, but this one might just knock them both out of the running.

Full of some quirky electro and minimalistic, and sometimes dirty techno and tech house, this mix has it all. I can recommend this to most everyone on this board, whether your a tech house fiend, or a prog junkie, give it a listen. Even if your not much of a fan of electro, check it out. This mix is just awesome. Too bad it came too late to be nominated for EM of the year.

Yeah i downloaded this last week. It starts off real nice. The middle is so so, but still real good. They suprised me a lot. Never heard of them before, but will check them out in the future.

They did a wicked mix of a Tieschwartz track... it was on the JZ EM earlier this year. That's all i know about them but from what that track looks like i think it's enough.

May sound silly but I can't find this EM in soulseek..

I really enjoyed this one too. I'm really digging the whole techy electro housey style sounds right now. Variety is the spice of life

Re: Black Strobe Essential Mix

I think they had a tune remixed by Tiefschwarz if I can recall correctly.

#317260Post 14 of 19

First track I heard by them was Me and Madonna bootleg with Justin - Like I love you, both were pretty good electro tracks. Though since then they seemd to have done loads of great production and even better remixes:

remixes:

TIEFSCHWARZ - GHOSTRACK DAVID GUETTA FEAT. JD DAVIS - THE WORLD IS MINE DAVE CLARKE - WHAT WAS HER NAME COSMO UITELLI - ROBOT SOUL ALTER EGO - ROCKER RAPTURE - SISTER SAVIOUR

and produced

BLACKSTROBE - ITALIAN FIREFLIES BLACKSTROBE - ME AND MADONNA

AND CHECK OUT their The ?Chemical Sweet Girl EP?

Blackstrope / Ivan Smagghe rocks ! The Mix CD "Suck my Deck" is very nice too - but hard to find. Was one of the last releases of REACT.

#320097Post 17 of 19

suck my deck was an awesome cd. so is death disco, they actually sound very different from each other but both excellent. only smagghe cd i actually own a hard copy of right now is Hard! which is decent.. reminds me of chicken lips dj kicks in the sense that it isnt really what you expect, not so much a dance cd, but still good. he also released a mix cd called how to kill the dj part 1 based from the kill the dj nights he is resident at in paris.

this might be my new fave emix of the year, just listened for what must be the 15th or so time, and it just does not get old. ivan smagghe is doing fabric 24 - bring it on :Respect: :Bounce:
