Hello!!

Ive been listening to dance music since very early 90s. I have a pioneer set with 2 cdjs. I wanna start recording my sets and mix online. I was wondering about what programs I need and how I setup my pioneer set to my laptop.

Re: How to start recording sets

Traktor Scratch Pro or Serato Scratch Live, is what you're gonna needif you need to tamper with timecoding.

Otherwise you can continue playing with your decks and simply use your laptop as a recording device (preferably with an external Pro Audio Interface) with Soundforge 9.

Guides for connection for Traktor Scratch Pro (Hybrid setup or Normal Setup), you can find at www.nativeinstrunments.com or at the Traktor Scratch (NI) forums. I believe that there will be something similar at the Rane Serato Forums.

Try a little googling on the above.

Regarding Hard Disk Recording with SoundForge, you can refer to the following links:

Re: How to start recording sets

On the simplest of levels you need A pro audio interface (get one with 2 outputs at least) and software such as cakewalk to allow you to record and edit your sets.
