Mid-Weekers for sure seem to bring the True fans of the scene out more than the weekend shows  . Instead of your "Hey I'm off for the weekend & have to find something to get into"......

Although on days like the one after seeing JZ in Gainsville & then driving home til like 5:30 in the AM- During those 8 LONG hours at work, I think - Damn- why couldn't the show have been on the weekend?? hahaha

#314255Post 7 of 23

yeah fuck that. some of us have to be at work by 7am every weekday, prohibitting us from going out during weekdays. sasha and digweed always come to ATL on wednesdays and its fucking annoying. usually i end up having to use a vacation day the next day to recooperate.

#314266Post 8 of 23

For those of us that work all day every day there is no such thing as a weekend

Agreed its the same here in Orlando, but usually the ticket price is about $10. So I suck it up, drink lots of coffee and water and head to work or school the next morning. Some of the best sets have been on a Wed. night.

Re: why do Burridge and JZ fans love mid-weekers??

I think mid week or Sunday night events always turn out to be the best. Pretty much everyone there is there specifically for the DJs. Otherwise, they'd just as soon stay at home and get some rest.

The less people you have that just want to get drunk and find someone to hook up with, the better the night always is.

As for JZ and Burridge together, I saw them at WMC this year, and I thought Burridge blew JZ out of the water. I love them both, but JZ's start and stop, tension building sort of style always felt like a momentum killer after Burridge's "get your ass up and dance" type style.

To me, JZ needs a good couple of hours to really get you into his space, as his style is so unique. It's really hard for it to gel with others.
it keeps it underground, weekends bring fucktards, week days bring beatheads --your welcome
word. nothing beats a nice midweek or sunday night at a lounge place or smaller venue with a good dj whocan warm it up for themself. (a guy like nick warren in particular)
