Here's the line-up

Dj line up isn't very inspiring imo and i don't think much to the sets being only an hour or so long. Someone told me Danny Howells was on but i don't see his name here - can't see him being too impressed with an hour slot anyhow :what.. Looking good bandwise i think and now wishing i was going, Specials, Bloc Party, Doves, Stereo MCs in particular.

Re: Glastonbury 2009

What a shitty line-up I have to say. Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas etc. it's all the same crap. Now it's populair, and 5 years later it's nothing more then dust...

Re: Glastonbury 2009

saw the line up and there's only like a handful of bands that i would want to catch ... wouldn't really give up £160 though

Re: Glastonbury 2009

The problem with glasto is that people who dont go to festivals (or gigs), go to glasto.

They dont know how to behave, and they get smashed up. They take their new digi cameras and a shitload of money, get wasted, mugged and destroy all their clothes.

Not everyone of course...

...and yes, lots of my mates are there and im not :(

The Specials are on just now - worth a listen/watch..

Re: Glastonbury 2009

Yeah I'm enjoying the coverage. Its funny when you watch it on TV you always want to be there and when your there sometimes you wish you had watched it on TV. I've had some great Glastonbury moments though. Last time I went I even met some working girls working, fucking strange.

Re: Glastonbury 2009

The bill looks poor ... Spinal Tap for novelty value maybe and Blur. But Status Quo, Tom Jones, Paolo Nutini.

Maybe the Boss will pull of a blinder.

Re: Glastonbury 2009

The coverage is a bit crap. The red button just keeps showing the same acts. Most of the coverage is late at night. Why they cant show any of it during the day I don't know? and there is so much more going on than just the 2 biggest stages.

Re: Glastonbury 2009

I thought Crosby Stills and Nash were excellent ... the stuff on Friday was pretty poor.

A few years ago there was footage from the dance village, but nothing like that this year.

6music has aired some good stuff though

Re: Glastonbury 2009

Madness were absolutely brilliant, I found myself pogoing round the living room with my 4 year old kid. What really suprised me was me liking Peter Doherty though, I thought he put on a great show.

The Ting Tings rocked. <-- Watch them on the red button if you get the chance.

big respect to the bloke but it didn't do a thing for me. Gotta say the turnout was massive when he was on but i can't remember a more static / disinterested crowd to see a saturday night headline at glasto.. the press is full of "he rocked it" shit of course but atmosphere-wise was a low point anyone see blur on sunday? now that was a show!

all subjective i know and people agree less about bands than they do about djs but for me, personally, Kasabian, bloc party, specials, doves, florence and the machine, blur, madness all did the business so the steep sounding £160 gets to be ok if yoiu see it as 40 a day and see all that lot along the way no? plus all the other goings on Danny Howells played in the silent disco on saturday i think ???

to those who call this a crap line-up i'd be interested to know who's missing that you'd rather see?? ;)

#1240150Post 34 of 37

Re: Glastonbury 2009

Well Si, Chunky just got off the phone to Carlos and he had a mad few days to say the least. He missed danny howells silent disco cos he was a bit worse for wear!!!!!!!!!! And got lost sat and sun cant remember where or what hes done? Hes off the rest of the week so he hasn't stopped since he got back and sounds like he should be on button moon or he says he'll walk to london for bedrock not missing it for the world.
