Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
Saw Dubfire about month ago and just had that same feeling as back in 2003/04 when he would just go straight tech house after Sharam played, completely in another direction as for Sharam awww the chedda is painful, at least Behrouz still brings it.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
I gave Sharam a pass with his Dubai Global Underground CD (and I still listen to it from time to time), but this double album is damn near inexcusable.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
he is like chris cornell doing an album with timbaland. to paraphrase trent reznor...it makes you embarassed for the person. i literally feel embarassed for sharam, thats how bad his new shit is.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
it was pretty horrid..
the show was like a wild west stunt circus with a midget cowboy..

Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
^Eish! (Zulu expression for "what the fuck?")
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
I listened to him three times since they fell out and every single time it was pretty horrid.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
I don't get the whole Wild West theme, what the point ? is it supposed to add some glamour or what ?
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
I caught him here for his get wild tour. We hung around until we couldn't handle it any longer - very predictable. We kept hoping it would get better but it never did. It's a shame considering the last time he was here, everyone was going on about how incredible the show was (I missed that one) and knowing what used to be during the Yoshiesque & Renaissance days.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
This whole wild west theme stems from his love of Sergio Leone movies.
The Good, The Bad & The Ugly = 8) Get Wild = :|
(Love that quote by Behrouz)

I still don't see the point. I doubt I would see it at the gig either. it looks more like Bonanza or Champion The Wonder Horse.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
shudder
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
Can't believe they went downscale. Deep Dish used to be among my favorate artists. And a cowboy theme? so bad =(
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
this is pretty much how the stage show went down. fucking gash

Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
wow, don't know what to make of that. i didn't bother to see him in austin a few months ago. always struck me as the too-housey half of DD.
makes me wonder, though--each show that comes through 3/4 of the people are packed in past comfortable dancing volume and just gazing at sasha/diggers/dubfire/whoever as though they don't know what the dj looks like. maybe sharam figures he'll put on a stage show if it's going to be that way anyway. kinda makes me ill but i dunno...
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
i call this album "Sharam.. WIsh You Were Here" ..cuz Sharam's long gone.............
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
well all of these dj's are pretty much doing the things most of the Trance dj's have been doing for a while now, which is to make of their appearances more like concerts, with live singers, guitar players, drum players etc,
in my own very personal opinion i think this is complete and utter shit, i mean, i used to love when dj's would concentrate on playing records, playing some sick ass tunes, which also in my opinion should be the only thing a dj should be worried about, but now, its not even close to being about that, now its all about marketing schemes, publicity stunts, adds and everything thats related to making shitloads of money.
underground dance music stopped being underground a couple of years back, right now its pretty mainstream, its almost everywhere. Ofcourse theres still a lot of underground things going down, but its becoming harder to find those small spots with some sick ass dj's, now its all about gathering thousands and thousands.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
I bet Dubfire could kick Sharam's ass in a fist fight

Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
IMO the guy lost the plot long ago ....Chees on fuckin Toast.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
I've loved Deep Dish since the 90's and have been following both Sharam and Dubfire since the split. In 2008 Sharam was still Rockin. I saw him in ATL just before the 08 WMC and then again @ bbc party. It was 2008 when "get wild" the track was dropped and i was like.... sweet this album's gonna rock. 1 year later when it's finally released i didn't even buy it becuase i read the tracklisting in disgust.
I'm not gonna dawg him though, he's just taking a more commercial, and unfortunately conservative direction with his productions and remixes. He reached a point where his name recognition and label work has earned him some requests from Mainstream artists and pop/rap talent ie working with diddy and other shmucks. As far as dubfire goes, his image as dark and techy is good and fits him well, and his music has been decent. But i def think they were much better as a duo.
Re: Sharam, Get Wild ?
:shock::shock: maybe if I were on a ton of drugs I'd have a good time at this, then again maybe not... looks like a bad imitation of something you would see in Ibiza
