Well the sun is shining here in the UK, and when it does I usually pull out some summery mixes a la Luke Morrison - problem is there don't seem to be any about anywhere? I have tuned into MCAST but I don't tend to get past the 15 minute mark as the mixes seem to take themselves too seriously over there! Same for Proton.

Anyone got any decent FUN summery mixes - I'm talking good beats, decent vocals and memorable tunes??

I always dig out Hernan's Palms Hotel WMC 2004 mix.

Aeroplane's RA 114 Podcast is different to the usual stuff and definately fun.

Plus the Oakey '99 Cuba or Miami mixes are sweet.

The Ricky Ryan Mob mixes from earlier in the year, Jan. His latest I do love but it definitely more serious. Have you listened to the Dubfunk After hours mix. Most enjoyable new [to me] Dj I have heard in ages. :D

yeah i wonder that too. someone here once described a mix of mine as "fun" and i didn't really see it as a compliment but apparently it was.. guess it could mean all sorts of things

a mix containing all your favourite tracks maybe? a mix that veers away from house? i dunno either

I think my attempt would include a load of old tracks (classics if you like) and a good dose of vocals after that i'm not so sure

^^ my wife had my bachelor cake made as a 1200. never posted pics, but it was the coolest thing i've ever seen. i'll see if i can dig up a pic.

found one, but the quality is awful, hard to see the detail. i'll try to find a better pic. it even has an ortofon nightclub. i felt so bad eating it.

Pancakes and strawberries... yummy.. however I'd have to swap them for blueberries..only fruit in my fridge right now....

I would have to agree that usually this is the time of year when those in the know have access to those rare gems that are both cutting edge mixes and also sound excellent in your car on your way to the beach or a summers night out on the town...

That being said, If anyone comes across the aforementioned sounding set, post it here! :lol:

Havent had a chance to listen to any mixes ironically!

By fun I mean a mix that is just a collection of decent tunes - not loads of tracks layered and mucked around with as seems to be the norm these days
