Saw this on the news yesterday and couldn't imagine what his parents are going through right now.

Schools and parents really need to keep a better look out on bullying. Its suicide for this kid, but you also get the situations like the columbine school shooting. really sad.

Re: Bullies

Really sad indeed! I used to be bullied at primary school as well by class mates. It drove me beyond nuts and it only ended when I put one of the biggest bullies in the hospital with a heavy concussion and a cut eyebrow and lip. Good thing people pulled me off the little prick before I did permanent damage...

Fat kids have a mean punch, so make sure you run hard enough when they're coming after you. Ha!

Re: Bullies

my buddy was telling me the other day that he went to his daughter's school and scared the shit out of one of her bullies so much that the school had to carry him to the nurse's office so he could calm down  what do you do... "now johnny, that's not very nice! be nice to her." they won't listen to that shit, so he took it into his own hands and scared the shit out of him. now the principal told him he has to change the school security measures to prevent parents from getting in

Re: Bullies

A lot of it is just up to the parents...build up your kids self esteem and let them know that the reason bullies exist is precisely because their parents did not do the same for their children. I think its mainly due to education. I was bullied too...beat up a couple of kids and the bullying stopped but I never thought of it as something that was wrong with me...it was something that was wrong with the bullies really. Most of them turn out to be pricks anyways.
Most of them turn out to be pricks anyways.
Reminds me: I ran into one of those asswipes a year ago at a reunion.

He: "So what do you do for a living these days?" Me: "I'm a HSE Manager, what about you?" He: "I bust tables at a restaurant." Me: LOL!

Re: Bullies

A true shame indeed, kids are so fragile to begin with and then some...

So many horror stories out there makes one wonder what is it that we are doing wrong that turns a child into a bully :what

Re: Bullies

a friend of mine's nephew was being bullied on the school bus by a kid twice his age. so my friend waits for his nephew at the bus stop one afternoon and when the driver stops to let the kid off (by the time the kid getting bullied gets to his house, he the bully and the driver are the only 3 on) my friend gets on the bus. goes straight to the kid and explains, "you're twice his elder and i am twice yours, the only thing preventing me from breaking your legs are laws and the witness of the driver." then turns to the driver and proclaims if he doesnt do his job and keep the bully at bay that he will beat his ass and let the bully watch so he see what he will get in the event that it doesnt end. needless to say the police were called to his house, but that's all that happened. no more bullying.

Re: Bullies

In High School I was a jock... Not an asshole though... There was a sophomore that helped me learn a ton about computers... excel, access, etc. when I was a senior. He was a wiz with computers. Most of my knowledge still comes from what he told me... I was leaving practice one day and I could see him getting into something with two of the school's notorious bullies... I was with another guy on our team... I'm 6' 200lbs (at the time). He was 6'3" 240lbs. We start running towards the two bullies... They get pissed and take a cheap shot at the Computer guy... We get ready to get in a little fight to help out this kid and then out comes the MMA of the Computer kid... Keep in mind this was in 94' Way before UFC and WEC... He sweeps the leg out of one, does some crazy arm bar shit and dislocates the kids elbow... The other guy looks at me, the my 6'3" buddy and I KNOW he was more fearful of the shit the computer kid did to his bully friend that he was of us ... Needless to say our relationship grew stronger as friends and no one messed with him ever again... I don’t know why people have to be such assholes... You are right... It comes down to parenting and teaching kids right and wrong and instilling values, ethics and beliefs... It is a shame that an 11 year old took his life... Re: Bullies

I was the guy who stood up for any kid who I thought couldn't stand up for themselves, or were "easy targets" because they were different from most of the students. I don't know where that level of responsibility came from but I would guess from my Dad.

I also was friends with just about every clique there was and was best friends with some of the biggest steriod using football players our school had ( I played lacrosse ), I would bully the bullies so that they understood what it felt like and backed off other kids.

This one time in particular a friend of mine came to me with an idea to get back at a bully by creating a fake student request pass (I was working in the admin office). Him and I walked across campus to enter a bullies classroom and give the teacher a fake student request as if the office needed him for something. As soon as the unsuspecting bully walked out of the classroom with me, my friend smacked the sh*t out of him for messing with one of my friends, it was awesome, I remember to this day the sound it made echoing in the hallway, LOL.

Re: Bullies

I actually went to an English boarding school since the age of 11...you can't imagine some of the shit that happened there...that was the first time I felt lucky about growing up in a shitty neighborhood in Serbia. I unlike the English kids knew how to fight even at the age of 11...

Re: Bullies

Being different should be appreciated not beat up. Especially for young kids. And it should be handled with more school and parent involvement since sometimes it can also go the other way where the prey becomes the predator. Not sure if people remember this, but these are kids who banned together and murdered their bully.

worse part is it happened in the same county as me at that time. being bullied really can eff with someones head.

Re: Bullies

This is so sad. Bullying seems to happen at every stage in life, and in places you would least expect it. I sell on Ebay a bit and go to their their forums sometimes. Last year I saw a group on there totally destroy this women, to such an extent that she moved house. The whole story was incredibly bad.

Facebook suicides of teenage girls is becoming almost commonplace. :(

Re: Bullies

My father was in the marines so we were always moving around and I ended up going to a number of schools. After being the target of bullies at the first few schools I intended I got smart and every time I was at a new school after that I would find out who the biggest bully was or group and just beat the living shit out of them (my dad taught me how to defend myself at a young age).

It was never my intent to be a bully, but it was better than being picked on. Plus after that I never heard of them picking on some one while I was there.

I have no pity for any one who kills them self, it goes against human nature and the human spirit. Perseverance wins the battle. If anything his parents did a poor job teaching him how to stand up for himself and not take shit from anyone. This current generation of kids needs to get thicker skin. Nothing but a bunch of pantie waists

And unfortunately it works sometimes!!

Do you have Children of your own Jayson? I hope so and we can continue this conversation, if not you should not comment on parenting because until you have kids of your own you have no experience on the subject.

 1. pussification

pussification(noun): the state in which a society becomes less and less tough. This noun's originator is the famous comedian George Carlin. "We are undergoing a pussification of our entire society."

Re: Bullies

Jayson, dude, as Coleby said only speak like that if you have kids.

My 10 year old daughter got bullied about 3 years ago at her old school by 3 nasty little girls. She withdrew into her shell at home, would pretend she was sick as to not go to school and would cry every time I dropped her off.

My daughter begged me not to do anything as in her mind this would only aggrevate the situation.

I had enough and at a sports meet one day I met up with two of the father of the bullies and basically told them to pull their children into line.

They were shocked with this revelation i was sharing with them and had no idea their kids were being so mean.

fortunately they took the criticism of their children well and punished their kids for their behaviour and my daughter was able to go to school without fear.

Her new school has a bully ban policy and if anyone found bullying another is expelled immediately!
