I think the cut on these drainpipes looks awful ... even worse when they make your shoes/boots/trainers look massive.
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
Def not the most inexpensive route, but I think Bloomingdales has a great handle on things in terms of selection, etc. They do have great sales too. At the very least, you can check out what the buyers there are advertising online and then try to find a similar look for less $ at an outlet I guess.

(imo nordstrom was the place to go, but something happened with their buyers and now their selection is lacking)

I wouldn't go that far....one thing is for sure, never shop at a Diesel Outlet store, they literally have a bunch of sh*t there...but anyway I will wear it on occasion nowadays not like when I was younger.

Guess GAS are out of the question then.
Have 4 GStar and 2 pairs of GAS. A couple of Duck and Cover and a French Connection. I find the GAS have the best fit, while the Gstar attract the most "attention" in terms of look. Nothing too fancy going on mind you. Had several pairs of Diesel a while back but ended up lobbing them out after too many years of wear and tear.
That's not even including the cords  ,

Now THAT is a car worth showing off. All done with sharpies.
Every time someone sees a picture of this car they don't know what to say and end up asking to see more pictures. So here they are for everyone to enjoy! The car was actually done in sharpie markers on the paint and then finished with a clear coat for protection. It took about 2 weeks total. Prestige (Lamborghini Miami) definitely shocked a lot of people when this car was first seen in California during the Concorso Italiano/Pebble Beach week. It attracted attention good and unfortunately bad everywhere it went.

there wasn't a "White Clear Bra" applied first?
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
That was done directly onto the white painted surface of that car. Then after the sharpies, it had coats of clear added to it.

Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
Selvage denim
Selvage on a pair of jeans
Selvage denim (also called selvedge denim) is a type of denim which forms a clean natural edge that does not unravel. It is commonly presented in the unwashed or raw state. Typically, the selvage edges will be located along the out-seam of the pants, making it visible when cuffs are worn. Although selvage denim is not completely synonymous with unwashed denim, the presence of selvage typically implies that the denim used is a higher quality. The word "selvage" comes from the phrase "self-edge", the natural edge of a roll of fabric. As applied to denim, it means that which is made on old-style shuttle looms. These looms weave fabric with one continuous cross thread (the weft) that is passed back and forth all the way down the length of the bolt. As the weft loops back into the edge of the denim it creates this “self-edge” or Selvage. Selvage is desirable because the edge can’t fray like lower grade denims that have separate wefts which leave an open edge that must be stitched. Shuttle looming is a more time-consuming weaving process that produces denim of a tighter weave resulting in a heavier weight fabric that lasts. Shuttle looms weave a more narrow piece of fabric, and thus a longer piece of fabric is required to make a pair of jeans (approximately 3 yards). To maximize yield, traditional jean makers use the fabric all the way to the selvage edge. When the cuff is turned up the two selvage edges, where the denim is sewn together, can be seen. The selvage edge is usually stitched with colored thread: green, white, brown, yellow, and red (red is the most common). Fabric mills used these colors to differentiate between fabrics. Most selvage jeans today are dyed with synthetic indigo, but natural indigo dye is available in smaller niche denim labels such as Evisu. Though they are supposed to have the same chemical makeup, there are more impurities in the natural indigo dye. Loop dying machines feed a rope of cotton yarn through vats of indigo dye and then back out. The dye is allowed to oxidize before the next dip. Multiple dips create a deep dark indigo blue. In response to increased demand for jeans in the 1950's, American denim manufacturers replaced the old shuttle style looms with modern projectile looms. The new looms produced fabric faster and wider (60-inches or wider), though lighter and less durable. Synthetic dyeing techniques along with post-dye treatments were introduced to control shrink and twist.

Wow, this thread got talking about cars.. and alot of talk of manufacturers..
I want to know what your favorite pair of your best/fav under say $100 I used to buy crap but I discovered fitting in stuff is key to how you feel about yourself..
I wish I had the access that Dhar has, I wish we got to hang out more when he was in LA.. I like denim. I almost always wear Lucky jeans, I have like 5 or 6 pairs.. a few express, some old styles skinny and straight leg, I dont like how they fit anymore Even Dhar said.. paper jeans, I had a chance to get a pair that was tagged wrong, either too small (from what the label said) they got damaged with ink, but I still wear them out.. i dunno why i like them, maybe soft.. the pockets are cool. pockets are KEY for me, I hate diesel for that, way too small of pockets and I don't like the cut.
The best pair of $200 jeans I ever tried on, and ALMOST bought on the spot were 7's
edit: DAMN THREAD is 4 pages. :) and all the good talk came before pics of the cars.
Thanks for the pointers, i'll go try to find some 575.. i want to get some crazy selvage stuff. :)
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
I personally don't know what the whole thing with Selvage jeans is. It's only the freaking cut of the threads. Why does that make the jeans so much better. Sometimes I think people allow themselves to get brainwashed into thinking that just because something is more expensive it's better.
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
Selvedge denim has a tighter weave and is more durable. While selvedge doesn't naturally mean the jeans are better cut (since you can find them in GAP too these days), the denim should be better quality. How the jeans' fit ultimately depends on the company producing them, but the fit of the jeans change over time as they mold to your body anyway.
The thing about jeans is that if you begin with a shit denim that fits your body perfectly in store, the jeans will stretch and lose that fit over time and washes because the material doesn't retain the structure. I've worn jeans from 7 and G-star that are just fucking shapeless now.
With better quality selvedge jeans, they're difficult to wear on purchase because they're so stiff, but after a few wears they stretch and mold to your body. They shrink when you first wash and dry them, and stretch out to your body shape when you wear them again. So over time the fit gets better and the jeans retain that fit better.
Selvedge is not as niche as it used to be, they come in a huge price range these days, ranging from PRPS at ~AUD375 to Uniqlo at ~AUD99. So they aren't necessarily more expensive but you eventually get what you pay for. If you put PRPS besides Uniqlo, you'll see a huge difference in details, but obviously nobody else sees those details when you're wearing the jeans out. So it's what you see and what you want to pay for what you see.
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
considering I buy denim about once every 5 years. I really don't see a need for tighter weave of jeans. The regular weave suit me just perfectly and make my ass look amazing. LOL.
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
Pics or STFU !!
Seriously the weave is important if you want to wear them more than once between washes. My diesels are totally out of shape after one wear!!
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
^ that will be because you are buying stretch denim.
normally stretch denim has 1/2% of elastane/lyric to give women that cruve hugging fit. unfortuantely being a synthetic fibre it tend s to lose its elasticit. hence saggy arses and distorted shapes.

denim is all about taste and whilst many people dont know the ins and outs of denim everyone has an opinion. cheap selvedge is a gimmick, but a decent selvedge denim does make a difference in the wear, treatment, colour, etc. it is very difficult to reproduce the effect of a selvedge denim on a normal loom even with todays technology.

Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
^^^To Chris.
I still don't think it makes much of a difference. Every pair of DKNY's that i've had have lasted me well over 5 years and still looked good. Other than the normal wear on the bottom of the legs. I really find no need to spend $200 to have a pair of jeans that might or might not last longer.
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
if you have an AG store in your city, they usually run an annual sale that brings some jeans up to half off. still $100, but it's better than $200.
nordstroms does a similar sale twice a year. good deals on AG, 7s, etc.
i usually buy my denim on both those days.
ebay is a pretty good place to pick up second hand if you know what you're looking for.
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
yeah ebay is pretty nice for that. You ever try craigslist for that. I haven't yet but i think i might in the future.
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
The problem with buying jeans on Ebay is the sizing varies so much even within the same brand.
Re: Where can I buy GAS denim on-line?
I will never ever buy jeans online unless I'm buying a second pair of something I already own, which has never happened but I'd be tempted with another PRPS.

Adriano Goldschmeid is the god father of denim. He's the one who taught renzo rosso (diesel) and the now late Claudio Boziol (replay) their trade! shame i think is washes are overrated and overpriced. i guess i am overly aware of the fabric/wash/industrial cost and hence evaluate everything using that formula.
