geeeee whatta topic!!! :shock::shock::shock: reading and reading and i thought there will be blood til the end of the last page :lol: but happilly it didnt happen, however.. i'm a bit tired and wasted of the physical illnes i'm going through these days and i have a lot to say on this topic, but one thing is for sure - female djs are being pushed backwards and not taken seriously because they are what they are - girls! ..and it mostly happened cuz of a few ones appeared in the 'beginings' showing their boobies to the guys in the crowd and not having a basic knowledge of putting two tracks together in a mix cuz, with their boobies, mixing was not important :what and so the rest that appeared after that was treated the same way , you are a girl, show us what you have and we dont care about you pressing some buttons in there and dying of trying to make it sound perfect, you're a girl.. show your face and lemme take a picture of you.. dammit.. :shock::what

anyway, it is sad to look on every female dj that way cuz there are some of them really working hard and trying to make their talent and knowledge WORTH all of the labour they put into it for years and years.. and it is sad to see a talented girl playing and the crowd not noticing that she's actually playing, but looking at what she's wearing, size of her boobs, legs or something..... you boys do miss a lot that way, indeed.. if you reeally care about music, if you dont, then viva la nikki belluci or however her name is spelled, dont wanna offend anyone but its really tiring to see that some of the ppl just dont care.. or treat you as a photography, good quality video or smth.. just cuz you're a female.

Saw Jennifer Cardini here last year , one of the worst sets of the year, totally out of touch with the crowd, and to add insult to injury she chain smoked the whole time and just dropped her buts on the floor . We have "no smoking" laws.

just caught Sarah Main .. i thought her mixing was kinda shoddy at some points but really interesting tracks selection that she plays though ... mash-up/remixes of house vocal tracks from 4-6years ago with recent tunes and she kinda know how to work the crowd and that's a plus

Many years ago when I was getting into djing and beatport was releasing free promo stuff on their site , she was something that caught my attention , with her remix of Take My Hand (Kupei Musika) - jonas bering ... pretty much made think of a stellar producer ,Kate simko comes form a family of musicians , more precise classical pianists . Very Chicago house - Derrick Carter influenced , her sets r really something else, seen her live 2 times and she always delivers

One of wolf + lamb proteges , she lives in the famous Marcy hotel in Ny and pretty much is into the "live" performances , her sets can go very deep and then she can absolutely be funky as hell ... needless to say that of all these females that I've mentioned she would be my fav producer of the moment , tracks like "whisper" , " yeah ", "Fables & Fairytales " make her into a stellar producer

[B]Mayaam Niddan aka as miss fitz[/B]

From israel , comes this talented dj/producer , she first started off as miss fitz producing and djing this dark very organic techno to then take a more Nu disco side . Not that i didnt dig her early stuff as a dj but next to Tensnake and greg wilson she has to be the best disco dj around . check out her Ra podcast as well as her Wolf + lamb one , they are full of epic .

Techno/minimal priestess she has drawn the path in france for everybody else to follow , i must say one of my best club experiences ever was delivered by this dj ,she warmed up for lazarus in mexico and me and my friends felt in a state of spiritual blesedness , if you r into the obscure and atmospheric side of techno she is def one to follow .

It would be great if you guyz could recommend more females djs on this thread , I know there are a lot of musical junkies on this board ... lets hear it . :)

Im very happy to see that more and more women are catching the eyes of the musical world . This is a great year for music I believe things are changing around edm but for good , changes are good they always are . ;)

I'm not sure what "genre" Cassy falls into these days but I know one thing....She very versatile in what she plays and her track selection & the way she builds a set is excellent imo. Plus she always drops some classic old school house tracks.

So pretty much it all comes down to these girls (which I have mentioned in the past on this thread ) at the moment.... tons of hype over [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=597"]Maya jane coles[/url] .... specially after her USA tour started 2 weeks ago . So far all of my friends have told me that she delivers...Tonight she will be playing in SF and I 'm super stoked about it .... counting the hours to check her out .
