I don't know where to start about last evening. All I hope is that it doesn't get any worse the rest of the week. Get in line at Park West around 2:45am, wait in line for approx. 40 minutes, pay the 70 dollar cover charge (flyers said 35) and then don't get into the main room til 5:30am. There was a small room that they would shuffle you into at the bottom of the stairs. You would think that this was the first time the bouncers ever worked the club during the WMC. At one point we were stuck outside in the courtyard with no music or restrooms and they weren't letting people back into the club. It was the biggest cluster fuck I've ever experienced.
I understand this is the WMC, but the dance floor at 5:30am wasn't even that full! I've tried repeatedly to have a good time when I'm seeing Danny, but never to any avail. Ive heard about the legendary night with him and Carl Cox at Twilo that broke attendance records. I've heard about his marathon sets that last til 5:00 in the afternoons. But to me it seems that these types of things happen every time I go to see Danny. He seems to have a Jersey guido following down here at the conference and that type of crowd just doesn't do it for me. When we did get to the main room there was some groovy tunes playing, but nothing that could salvage the rest of the evening. And he was doing that annoying thing where he talks over the microphone. We left around 7:00am. This was Danny's last chance and I realized last night that he's not good enough to go through the trouble you go through to see him. (end rant)
