I just bought one of these the sound is amazing - dont buy any shiity ipod system until you hear it - its just incredible.

I got a cambridge audio dock and remote for £14 that connects into my hi-fi amp instead !

it fills the room with sound at really low volumes. the soundstage is incredible. the entire middle is bass with two midrange and tweeters on the end. sound quality is AMAZING.

my main hifi are - Linn system with ProAc speakers.
Hi End is where its at if you are a music lover.
B&W also produce 20 grand speakers!!

But for relatively low prices and powerful performance, I love PSBs. they're just incredible speakers. B&W, KEF and Sonus Faber (especially the Grand Piano Series) are my favorite Speaker companies, I know I've grown out of the phase where I'll plonk +4K on a pair of speakers and so I will probably buy the entire package from PSB (the image series)

The B&W-Zeppelin is a good recommendation. If I´d use an ipod then I´d probably buy it, too.

I only use it for bedroom/office use - my main system is always preferred.

if you consider it will be a potential lifetime worth of use, for some audiophiles, it will justify the cost. But I probably wont spend that much for speakers that are [I]exclusive[/I] to the iPod, I may get the cheaper bose sounddock considering it's portability.
but I would definitely spend much much more if I will buy speakers for all around more usage.

portability was why I got the zep. SERIOUSLY listen to the zeppelin before you buy that Bose shite - the difference in sound quality is remarkable. (IMHO of course!)

I love hi fi systems! I don´t like much how does mp3 sound... I have some music in my computer, or my mp3 player... But I like cds... since I bought audio monitor for working, I use them to listen to music. And I add to the system a hi fi sub woofer, only for de edm... hehe. So BOSE is a piece of crap? I listen to them in many places (like shoppings or bars), but never payed too much attention to them. I didn´t even thought they were hifi systems...

I think Bose is fine for a lot of people, they just have a lot of bad rep from the audiophile community.

they're just overpriced for their quality. For the most part, you can get better sounding systems in the same price range that bose sells some of its stuff (especially in their full range and monitors).

Bose sounds alright to most people but if you compare them to "real" speakers;) you can tell the difference (listening side by side). Like Kamal said, there are speakers you can get for the same price or cheaper that'll be better.
I love my Paradigms...currently mated with a Denon. I definitely think my next speakers will be Paradigms again - I have no complaints! :)
