Is there an automated way of doing this? It's quite painful and time intensive.

And yes, I can't be bothered sifting through abletonlivedj :)

Re: Warping in Ableton Live

it only takes a minute to warp a track for dj'ing with. are you that busy?

Re: Warping in Ableton Live

It's not a matter of patience. Tedious work takes away from creativity.

And, generally it takes longer than 1 minute if you warp the entire track.

I think it's a fair question.

Re: Warping in Ableton Live

Just remember when warping tracks that you probably should not lock the markers through the whole song.

Here is a tutorial from Vinkalmann: http://vinkalmann.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=26

If the bpm is correct for the track you are warping it should really only be a matter of making sure that the first warp marker is lined up with the very first beat. Like Nigel said, you don't need to lock any warp markers unless the bpm changes throughout the song.

You're probably making the process much more complicated than it should be. It shouldn't be a tedious process and should take 1 minute MAX for most songs.

Re: Warping in Ableton Live

im beginning with some djing and lately i warp my tracks, but its not just about 1 minute, sometimes and more than less, the tracks are distroyed and u have to warp the entire song or at less the first 2 minutes and the last 2 minutes for the mix, if the track is very good then yes, could take a few minutes.

regards!

Re: Warping in Ableton Live

i mark notes throughout the track and i warp all my tracks to keep them organized. i also save my warps everytime i warp a track so i don't have to do it again, ever!
