Pascal FEOS dj sets?

Any of you guys seen Pascal FEOS dj before?

I just bought a bunch of singles from his PV label that are great, and his last album , Self Reflexion is one of the best dance music albums i've ever heard. I'm usually more into house than techno, but his stuff blows away any album of house music I can remember hearing. To me it's sounds like psychedelic techno/trippy tech-house. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for everybody.

Pascal has a new tech-house (or minimal techno or whatever you want to call it) label called levelnonzero (www.levelnonzero.com). You can listen to a set there from him and one from his label partner chris wood (go to the artist section).

I think Pascal FEOS is one of those "assumed" DJ's, like BT, damn good producer (not necessarrily a good DJ though) whouldn't describe his style as "minimal techno" (whatever that is supposed to be) or tech house though.
nah..i've heard some of his DJing...I would have to disagree with you on that
Can't comment on very recent stuff since he hasn't been here, but I've heard a number of live sets over the years that took my head off. Very good indeed.

In his studio he has speakers branded with "FEOS" (stands for From The Essence Of Minimalistic Sound) and just about every toy you can poke a stickat. Not exactly minimalist in that department. :)
"FEOS" (stands for From The Essence Of Minimalistic Sound
wouldn't that then be "FTEOMS"? :?

#299339Post 15 of 21

It should be, but it isn't. :) He left out the extra letters cause it didn't sound right. To each their own I guess!

i like many of his productions/rmxs but i have never heard him dj before, will have to try and find some stuff to listen too, but wicked producer for sure.

I think you're totally wrong, beavis. He's been a dj forever. To compare him to that wanker BT is silly. The guy dj's every weekend of the year, and Sven Vath certainly doesn't choose you to make a cocoon mix cd if you're not a dj. From what I've heard he can mix like nobody's business!

Re: Pascal FEOS dj sets?

I?ve seen FEOS several times live and also have the majority of his CD-productions here at home.

The first time I?ve seen him, at "Rave on snow" in Austria 2001, he totally ROCKED. I think this was because he played at 4am. The second time, also on Rave on snow one year later , he played at peak-time and it was only like BANGBANGBANG. It sucked. Last time I could watch this guy was at the afterparty of "Streetparade" in Zurich this summer. I thought he had completely lost it.

Most of his CD-productions are part-wise phantastic, and the other part is boring (for me). The only CD I?m still listening to is his "Clubnight Vol.4"-double album. But this may be hard to buy now (must be about 3 or 4 years old).

Overall I personally think that most of the German DJs should take a look above the border of their plate (sound-wise). Only one music-style
(especially with only German records) is boring.

EDIT: This guy seems to have his complete production-list: http://www.kompaktkiste.de/feos.htm#vvr101602

And his (alias)-production "sonic infusion- reformatted (1*CD)" is definitely worth a listen

Hi chatterbox, what was he playing at the streetparade that made you think he had completely lost it?

#299523Post 20 of 21

I?ve been at ClubQ. Pascal?s sound just didn?t fit in this club at all. It was mostly minimal, but the DJ before him played rather tribal (party-) stuff (Pascal came around 1:30, if I remember right). The sound was simply uninteresting and rather boring. Steven S, Mastra, Nukem, Gogo and Paul Cooper , who also spun there, did a very good job that night.
I thought he had completely lost it
hmm...could be that I was a little bit harsh on this one..
