I had the day off and the house to myself so I figured having some puffs, a couple glasses of wine and watching Delta Heavy would be a great way to spend the afternoon. Boy was I right. That was so good to revisit that tour and remenisce. There were so many good laughs from the lady in Miami calling Digweed - pigweed, the hippy couple in Texas and John crowd surfing. Great to hear all of those tracks again too. Some of which I still hear often to this day. I can't tell you how much I was moved to see the Lady Windridge yacht party. I was like "Holy Crap, I was on that boat too. I can't believe it." (not until 2008 though). I always wanted to go on that party boat and it happened!!! Lot's of great moments and interviews in DH.

Delta Heavy afternoon.
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
"Did she just call you pigweed?"
I love how John laughs about it. That's the best part :)
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
Yeah, they both have a great sence of humour. Quite a few of the crew members did too. I guess you need it to survive those grueling hours and schedule.
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
Good times :)
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
I love the Digweed interview re the £100k fine, as in "some DJ's" have a rep for not turning up, i.e. Sasha, others are reliable (i.e. JD) !
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
i am gonna get on that boat party this year if i have to stalk the marinas in miami!

Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
i love that they showed the crowd in new orleans raising their shoes in the air. the looks on their faces that nite when they saw the crowd do that was priceless!
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
Was a wicked tour, had a crazy 2 weeks doing the same route
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
Fantastic DVD. Brings back good memories, musically anyway. Would love to have been to one of those gigs, especially the boat party!!
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
The one in Miami was one giant head fuck.
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
Wonder what kinda money a digweed set commands these days?
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
Just playing the Washington DH mix - its the best of the lot.
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
^^Think travel and hotel expenses. Then think compensation for the gig itself. I'm thinking a total of 10-12 grand?
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
I think they tailor fees to the venue and type of tour .. festivals are big pay days, but things like the Bedrock University Tour in 2004 were probably more promotional.
Be interesting to know how much he'll make at Matter .. 2500 x £15 = £45,000 !

 Yeah...what was that about? I had to do a double take on that one, but noticed all of the shoes were the same. Then I was thinking, shit that would hurt if someone threw one up in the air and landed on the old noggin.

Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
Hopefully that works out at £4.5k an hour ... I'm expecting at least 10-hours from JD - make sure he earns his wages !
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.

the promoter, disco donnie, who put on all the legendary parties at the state palace theatre was walking around the crowd carrying one of his shoes and telling everyone to raise a shoe in salute while the guys were playing their encore. it became known as the one shoed salute!:D

Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
It would suck watching it on youtube. Get the nice dvd and watch in quality style. Plus you get the extra interviews on the dvd.
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
TOO BAD most of the music on that DVD is NOTHING like the mind altering stuff thet were canning at the shows.... I was gutted when I watched the whole thing and realized it. Still bought two copies though. You gotta support the scene. :D

That night was so fucking awesome. They absolutely killed the place. I mean for christ's sake, we took our damn shoes off it was so good. I stepped in something wet, my sock was gross.
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
I remember when the Delta Heavy Tour came to Houston. I had a blast. Diggers kept sticking his head out from the curtains when Sasha was playing.
Re: Delta Heavy afternoon.
i was at that show too. i remember seeing someone walk past me and thinking ' that looks like digweed. ' gave another look and sure enough it was him walking around getting a view of the place and the visual setup from the back. i watched as slowly people started realizing it was him and a small crowd started following him. then he noticed them, said a few hellos and booked it backstage!
