Re: i'm quitting smoking...again
Welcome to the club, day 3 and its hell. My house has never been so clean. The test for me will be when i go down the pub. I keep thinking about all the money i will be saving eveytime a want one. Its very hard so im going to go to a bookshop and get a book to help.
i quit beginning of august for a month. started smoking again tho. but now again i haven't smoked in a month and i'm not gonna make the same stupid mistake like i did last time (-> examns were over so i said to myself i deserved to smoke one  )
good luck tiddly. ive never smoked cigs in my life, so i dont know that struggle. hope you can kick it!
average attempts to quit is 8-10
good luck tiddles, keep us posted

Good Luck mate, never tried to quit maself b4...but im off dat spliff 4 nearly a month now and that the longest in 5 years maybe. i think i'd quit cigys if i went back 2 live in uk coz it's bloody exp..but here a pak of 20 Marlboro = 60p  but i need to take a note about quitin some time soon
Good Luck, it is a hard habit to quit. Maybe that is why they call it a habit.
four months and counting for me.... i've come to the point where i feel sick now if i try to smoke one. good thing too, keeps me from wanting one.
good luck tiddles, its tough but you can do it 8)
Yeh good luck Tiddles, i may try stopping tomorrow.... but i bet i say that tomorrow too.
I finally quit this summer......of course I always smoke when I go out and then nicotine rage for the entire week.......but technically i have broken the addiction.
If you can make it 1 week cold turkey I think it's probably in the bag.

Doc said quit now while your lungs are healing and you won't get lung cancer. If you do smoke now your chances are like 10X greater then smoking with healthy lungs. Chances for mutation are greater in rebuilding tissue. So i quit with the patch! ____It was not easy
Teeheee, just stick one up a dog's arse and then sniff it. Picture yourself smoking it, and I bet you're cured forever...
i have done well for three days now. not a single puff or look. it will be the last few days i worry about
it is hard ... the coffee tastes plain. the drive home and to work is soft and music not loud.
:|
gahhhh nicfits abound tonight :( thanks for the support guys :|  :P :D
I hope you all can get through this...
I don't smoke but my Mother has smoked all her life and I worry about her alot... I've given up trying to change her but I still worry that I'm going to have to deal with her decline sooner than later...
Fucked up shit you have to think about when you get older...
:(
Good luck, its hard but if you work at it you can do it

don't worry once your system is readjusted to not having nicotine you will feel much better
trust me. :)
Re: i'm quitting smoking...again
now im going to go smoke a cigarette
never underestimate the power of the human psyche
that being said, fight it every step of the way, because no matter how much you crave, want, or desire, get your mind on something else and that feeling will eventually pass...and then it won't happen as much.
When you DO quit, you'll feel like a new being

That'll go away and you can enjoy things just the way you did when you smoked..just takes a bit time. Real tests are the first times you go clubbing, go to a pub or get drunk....severe powers needed so maybe avoid any of these spare time activities over the 1st weeks...saves you mental power you need to get rid of the psychological addiction.

once you get readjusted, but it takes a lot of a time for that, after first 6 days it gets harder and harder to say no, and then the weekend comes... i managed to stay away from the cigs all night in a club, just have to be very drunk, and need to have your hand full of anything. that was saturday, now i count 9 days, can say it is little easier than the first week.
and yes, i quitted coffee, too. now i am on tea, it is healthier, they say. hehe
Stay strong tuddlez keep that addiction in czech.

you can do it...this january will be 4 years without a single cigarette (not even 1 drag!). i was a pack a day smoker from the age of 17 till 24. it was my 3rd attempt at quitting. i still smoke the green stuff though...:)

Re: i'm quitting smoking...again
well, 1'st november i've quitted smoking for ther 3'd time this year :) so far, I'm managing well. every time I'm trying to quit, same day I start going at gym, that helps a lot (well for 2-3 months max) . Hope this time will last more :) good luck to all !
Jenks you asshole ...
:CrackUp::CrackUp::CrackUp::CrackUp:
anything to help out eh Jenks?
You can quit. I did 4 years ago. I smoked for 10 years and it took 3 times for me to finally leave the smoky treats. Haven't looked back since. Chewing gum helps. :D
I've been stopped since July & it's getting harder & harder, when does the craving go away? I've found it does help if you surround yourself with people who don't smoke but that's not always possible. I've nearly resisted a couple of times  but just be strong
GOOD LUCK!
"Teeheee, just stick one up a dog's arse and then sniff it. Picture yourself smoking it, and I bet you're cured forever..."
That's some funny shit. when I decide to quit I'll remember that...lol
4th day. It has been a battle between my friends and I. Thank goodness I started coughing. It did remind why I was here and at this point. I really have no direct withdrawals from the cancer stick, but it is hard fighting the natural habitual occurrences in life.
Thank you phlegm for making me disgusted. eck.
Re: i'm quitting smoking...again
Good luck with that. I'm going to quit again shortly. I had to give up the green first..
that will be hard ...
i gave up green a while ago ... but the squares just kinda stuck around. i really love to smoke ... perhaps because i am really into Native Americain stuff ... it's a fucking peace pipe thing.
Yeah, it's a jah love thing for me that green. But it's been a couple of months now and so far it's smooth sailing. Granted, I haven't been putting myself in situations as of late where there might be overwhelming temptation. Cigs are next. I just need to get a cold. That's real good motivation!
yep that is what happened to me.
fuck. i love chronic.
i know when i am older like 60+ i will be hitting the bong out front in my stoop. i can not wait as the younger generation walks by ... "man, that old man is tripp'n".

Giving up the green found easy, i just went on holiday for two weeks. I didnt miss it at all while i was away so i thought whats the point in starting again when i get back. Been off it now for 4 years. Cigs on the other hand are a lot more difficult to crack. Your idea of waiting to get a cold is a good one because its the last thing you wanna do when your throat feels like sand paper and your heads in the shead. Its fast aproaching winter when all the viruses are about.... im going out to catch one.
I gave up for 7 weeks up until about the time Involver came out, then I started again. I got a bad cold and it was easy. It's just that first one that's deadly, at least for me. Now I just need that cold! ;)
lol.
i got a nast-e bug. man. have not been sick for three years until this one came around. made me drop my shorts and soil them. i was truly pissing in the wind.
"clean your shorts"
