Re: Smoking
jesus, your splitting hairs dhar.. people get in accidents when they're texting too
same difference!
if your stupid enough to do either while your driving!!!
hence second hand texting kills aswell!
Re: Smoking
oh shut it, lol
we're talking about smoking bans in public places.. if your driving in a fuckin pub/restaurant youve got serious problems, lol
Re: Smoking
second hand texting, lol... i'd love to see the day when talking/texting on the cell phone is illegal while driving. i see so many ignorant drivers on cell phones these days.
Re: Smoking
it is in some states already
people driving whilst yapping on the phone think they're being cautious by driving slow, but in all actuality are more dangerous.. driving slow does not = paying more attention
Re: Smoking
I would gamble and say that alcohol causes more deaths a year than cigarettes...as for second hand smoke...its just another example of the general pussyfication of our society...I wish I was born a couple of hundred years ago...

i bet you'd be very very wrong
this doesnt even deserve a response, lol
Re: Smoking
second that
Re: Smoking
Actually are there any stats that say how many people secondhand smoke is killing per year?
It's an assumption that secondhand smoke kills because well, firsthand smoke kills.
But the amount of secondhand smoke we inhale in proportion to all the junk and shit in the open air, how much of a difference does secondhand smoke make?
Of course an enclosed area would be different, but even the secondhand smoke inhaled in enclosed area over the span of someone's life, how much does secondhand smoke factor into the detriment of that person's health over his lifespan?
Re: Smoking
hard to say who knows in exact measure. idunno.
unfiltered smoke is pretty gnarly though sergeant, regardless of assumptions.

it will net you a ticket in California now. As of jan1st
oh, and New York
Re: Smoking
the smoking ban is treating a symptom of the problem not the problem itself...I remember reading some statistics about six months ago that said that the air in an average home is about 30 times more polluted than the open air in major European capitals (as all the chemicals used in the house evaporate into the air over time and are concentrated)... this is due to the fact that the materials used in construction are not air permeable due to costs... soooo...if we used permeable materials such as Simprolit...which I am conveniently selling.. (only for China though as they are green now) :)
Re: Smoking
the techer, an anger men said to one guy of the clas: turn off your celphon, you cant bring your cel to the class.... bla bla ba awawawawaaa...... what a fock??? i think to myself, this thecher ir crazy, this generation si to much advanced, you cant tell any bodie what to do, even to your soons...
Re: Smoking
would second hand alcohol be piss???
anyway, people die because people drink drive. so it does have knock on consequences!
But there has to be something else involved, in this case a car. In the other, fists or guns. Cigarettes can kill just on their own and they don't discriminate. :)
Re: Smoking
Smoked for about 10 years from time to time, only one year on a regular basis when I was in the army. Had my last around 4 years ago, don't miss it at all.

Re: Smoking
Many years ago I quit smoking , making a promise to myself that if something i wished for were to happen i would quit until that situation was gone . Well that wish lasted for 6 years and i didn't smoke anything.
Today I made a similar promise and I'm pretty sure it will go through , i'll give updates on my quiting.

I'll translate.
He is saying that in one his classes, the teacher told a student that he was not allowed to bring his cell phone to class. Mamot thinks that no one should be able to tell you what to do, not even to your soons.
Re: Smoking
Not even to my soons!?!?!?!?
I don't agree with that after all. I'll tell my soons to do whatever I want.
Re: Smoking
nOT TOO much but man it is tempting when your out and mashed :-) always succumb!
Re: Smoking
Another attempt to quit ,the last one was an epic fail, lets see how this one goes now I'm on 2 days without them , it sucks really is so painfull ahhh fuck i'm going crazy. :suicide:
Even-though i was a light smoker( 1 - 10 cigs a day) I still felt I was killing myself and also I noticed that the aging process had speed up a bit in the last 6 months. don't wanna be old so fast .
I'm replacing the smoking for things i really like to do , like if i get the urge to smoke , i'll treat myself with something to eat or do an activity which will actually be of great benefit.
Re: Smoking
^I would drink an entire water bottle every time I needed a cig, by keeping a crate in my car....then I would chew on that piece that breaks off the cap for 5 mins or more, super tough habit to break...and you will always be addicted to light up if you smell it in the future (especially when drinking):| The key is to be done mentally with something else controlling you. Remove smoking as an option completely. I had to ween myself off for a long time too, using the 1 in the morning, 1 at noon 1 at 6pm method...then eventually just one after a long day, then the water and no cigs.
Re: Smoking
I smoked lightly for around 8 years and am trying to stop now. I can go Monday to Friday without a rollie and wont even think about it but as soon as i have a pint of beer or cider i start shaking because i am so desperate for a smoke.
Re: Smoking
like forange said is a mental thing to let go of it , the most painfull part is that i can't get inspired when I'm mixing or when you are out on a club or if a buddy lights one up in front of you.... shit ... is so hard to say no.
smoking sucks kids
Re: Smoking
Smoking is very hard to quit. It requires a complete behavioral change in every aspect of your life.

1up here :( i quitted smoking on february, it was my 2009. resolution, and i did good, didn't think of them and was convincing mysrelf that everything was better without smoking, food tasted better, coffee tasted so good in the morning when you wake up clearminded cuz u dont have that nicotine hangover when you wake up..... ..but then, the time for playing some gigs came and i'm used to have a couple of glasses of wine or beer bottles before playing, and .... being nervous about playing etc etc.. made me wanna smoke :what ..and it was the beginning of the end, again. it was one night that i smoke around 10cigs for that night, after that i didnt smoke... til next gig in one week... and then again, beer - nicotine connection, it was so hard to say no.
someone said that if you wanna quit smoking, you have to quit a lot of your everydaylife habbits and its so true..... for me, at least.. no smoking means no wine, no beer, less coffee and less nervous crises, and i think i'm not ready for that... still.. :what
got a book that helped to dozen of ppl i know to quit smoking, Allen Carr's "Easy Way".. they all say it helps a LOT but i kinda dont have time for reading smth that's not for the university.... or im denying it... ..but if it helps after i read it, gonna come back to this topic and tell some more about it :D
Re: Smoking
dhar_2 might have quit smoking cigs but i'm sure he still smokes cock... :blow:
