So I was at a club the other night hearing some fine techno and it came to my mind that in the past i really did like GoGo dancers ... Ok i was a kid, drunk , stonned most of the time at clubs ,enjoying the music and loved to see a fine chick in front of me dancing to it.

But the other night it just really bothered me , it look a bit cheesy to me at times... i don't know it just didn't go with the music or the flow of the night I guess .

what are you guys approach on GoGo dancers??

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

Depends on the club ... at amnesia, ibiza (pic below) it just wouldn't be the same without them, other places i can take it or leave it.

I don't mind them. Just as long as they don't over do it. They don't need to move much.

Some of these chicks act like we are there to only see them...

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

Well the only thing that has changed ever since is the fact that i have some gray hair, wrinkles and more clubbing experience so i was wondering if it was just a noob thing , why i used to like them so much. and if the music is good do they really make that much of a difference to the night
Think you answered your own question  You need BETTER go-go dancers.
I know there are some dj's example: Mark Farina that doesn't like them and wont play until they go off stage regardless on how good looking or great dancers they are .

I don't mind them. If you aren't head-down-eyes-closed or so messed up you can't see straight, then at least you have some entertainment

I agree! There is usually a few girls in the crowd that are incredible dancers and I will always watch them over the go-go girls.

Most of the time they don't know how to dance properly to the music being played and look awkward. I remember when I was at Viva (club in TO) there were these 2 go-go dancers and the one girl was dancing like she should of been in a strip club, but no where on beat and the other girl barely moved at all, lol

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

in general, i think most are annoying skanks, at least where i'm from. they are easy game; some are fun dancers forsures.

chloroform, donkey punches and dirty sanchez's are usually a good way to keep the busters in line tho. ;)

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

I think if they are good dancers and "get" the music and fit the style thats being played ie.. morillo, tiesto etc... it definitely adds to the vibe.. but i've also been to some shows where they have their own agenda and it's obvious they arent dancing to whats being played

I saw Luke Fair in Orlando and there were dancers on stage for his set.. definitely looked weird them trying to dance to his grovvy funky house.. I asked what he thought and he just laughed and shook his head

#1148669Post 16 of 69

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

^ A very diplomatic response from Luke.

They have to be exceptionally good dancers who get the music to grab my attention. Most of the time I really don't notice they are there. Hmm, thinking back I can't even remember the last time I've seen gogo dancers in a club.

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

I've seen some that dance like hip hop dancers while house is being played....Odd looking.

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

I've put literally zero thought into go-go dancers up until this moment, but if an attractive, half-naked woman wants to stand on a pedestal and dance around, far be it for me to complain. That rule applies to clubs, restaurants, grocery stores, sheet metal factories, really pretty much anywhere...

What about Cincinatti Bow Ties or Rusty Wallace's? Or Jelly Donut's usually get their attention. I really shouldn't even get going here. Thread could get away fast.LOL

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

sorry to just ram the thread with pics and no explanation.. or thought.

I agree with all of the above, just plodding around up there with no rhythmn is quite boring.. definitely need to be up in the music and..

most of the dancers ive seen, and the ones I usually see, all love techno/house.. some favorite djs are: prydz, satoshi, we had a greattttttt dancer setup for sebastien leger too.

Or the alligator fuck house? Rusty trombone? Pussy juice cocktail?

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

i'd rather watch a hot girl dancing and having a good time in the crowd! to me, the people dancing and hanging out with smiles on their faces gives it more of a " party " atmosphere than gogo dancers do. but i have no problem with them being there. in the end, hot women are hot women!

#1148799Post 24 of 69

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

And of course the top DJ's concentrate on their mixing/track selection, and are completely oblivious to the fact that there's a hot dancer on the podium, in a slinky pink bikini touching her boobies !

i love go-go dancers

Re: Go Go dancers... do we really need them?

Like Simon says it really depends on the club. I remember the old Gods Kitchen at The Sanctuary in Birmingham they used to put on quite a show with dancers and acts. It really added to the night. I couldn't imagine it would work at Cream though.

is there a problem with half naked women dancing to house music?

sorry, i just don't see the problem.

we all know what you mean, a bad gogo dancer who has little or no appreciation for the music, if you focus on her she can literally sort of f*ck up the moment...

^^^ that's right personally i think there is more to loose than win by having them , if they suck at dancing they can really fuck up the vibe of the night , even if the music is good there is still a girl upthere gathering attention doing the wrong moves. Epic fail

on the other hand if the music is good and she is a great dancer I don't think it will make much of difference to the night .

Don't get me wrong i luv hot girls just not the ones that could messed up my night.;)
