not so much on the petty daily things, but more on the bigger picture. like the choices you made that have altered the path in life youve taken..

man i just found out one of my friends is moving to Colorado for the winter to "work", then off to hawaii to do a work/study program (going on his 3rd year in a row for semi interesting things to take up his time). im happy for him but jealous at the same time.. the only responsibility he has is to make sure hes got clean undies on & his screen isnt clogged.

shit i went straight from college into the full time workforce of corporate america @ a fairly young age.. more less cause i was hungry for money & having things.. come to find out, money & stuff is nice but surely not the end all be all... now ive got all these responsibilities & feel tied down.. granted i lvoe my wife, but part of me kinda wishes, now, i would have explored more of whats out in the world rather than "getting paid" & settling down.

at the time when i decided to slow it down, i was tired of always being on the road, out partying every nite till 7 in the morn, & never having shit.

but then again, no matter where i am in life, im always the one thinkin & wondering if the grass is greener on the otherside.... no matter which side im on....

well my friend you are living your life. how it is supposed to be lived is entirely up to you. there is no constant unless you want one. your wife, well she should be the first dedication in your life. and there is nothing wrong with saying "Honey, let's get butt naked and go for a road trip. I do not care where we go, but let's just go." I find in life if you follow a certain order it goes against nature's rules. Mankind is too rule oriented. Let go of all systems and just be. whatever that be may be. make sense?

I give you one goal. Do something new and fun, and enchant yourself with life outside of yours. I know you have not done everything.

the grass always looks greener on the other side but only because the piles of shit look smaller from afar... love your job-its better than mine love your wife-i can't find one love your friend-i never got a chance to meet him and last but not least.... love your side of the fence cause you know where to step!

A very wise person once told me that it's just a waste of time to keep thinking on what if's, just focus on where you want to be and how to get there from where you are.

It's not an easy thing to do sometimes, but it helps when you just can't get your mind off from those thoughts. Think about what can you do to change where you are, what you're doing, instead of what would things be if you've done things differently, think about things you can change instead of those you can't.

I regret not going for a better degree in college; while the Communications degree made me a better person, it isn't exactly getting me a nice-paying job right now... :P

By the same token, I have enjoyed the things I've done, but could have done FAR more had I been able to get some good work coming out of college...not these slave-labor simplistic jobs...

So, now I sit on the crossroads of life with 300 different directions pointing at me and having NO clue which one to take...only knowing of where I want to end up.

In the meantime, I go have some solace in the club.

everyone has its regrets in life, but then again, no one is perfect i try to enjoy the things i do and the things i have i always try to do better in life it doesnt always comes this way i apreciate what i have, and about my regrets, i try to think as less posible i can, keeps me focus and alive

#295502Post 9 of 59

Just think you have alot more than others so be grateful for waht you have. The grass looks greener for most people (including myself), but please do think of others less fortunate when these regrets come into your mind then you might feel a whole lot happier with what you do have! :D

#295521Post 10 of 59

regretting some part of your life is a waste of time, if you believe in time that is. everything happens for a reason and there is reason why we end up where we are in life. i have no regrets for the things that i have or haven't done with my life. trying to change that is a real waste of the moment that i have here on this planet. 2 cents

thrua - clever piece of knowledge..

well its not that i dont like what i have goign for me now, im just rethinking things about if i should make a life change. ive been stewing on this for a while.. prolly most of it has to do with the rules set forth by corp america & all the BS that goes along with my job & daily commute. but i know im preaching to the choir about the corp america knobfest.

I regret moving back to Boston sometimes. I had plans to go to UC Davis, had my first apt signed into lease with my best friend, all our friends were going to UCD and living in the same area. Then I got out of it all and moved back to the east coast to help my mother since she needed back surgery...i moved back 3 yrs ago and she still hasnt had the surgery  I left a perfect life only to come here and be poor and not know what to do with myself.

Oh well.

#296135Post 19 of 59

lots of regrets, all you can do is accept them for what they were and learn to live in the NOW.

#296153Post 20 of 59

ok, I suppose i should share soemthing then..lemme think. I started smoking weed with my younger brother a while ago. I started doing alot of other things. My brother always looked up to me. I tried to hide alot of things, but if he asked me a question about a drug I would tell him about them. 1999, I was in Va. My brother's old grade school friend came to visit him. I decided to travel back to ny. why? because i wanted to go to fucking twilo. My brothers so called "friend" sold him a sugar cube of acid with 3 drops of liquid acid on them. I mean that is fuckin 12 paper tabs. and my little brother took this trusting his friend and his body. Now for my brother to take this was his responsiblity and his decision. BUT his "friend" left him to go home soon after my brother took this. Its one thing to sell someone acid. Its another thing to sell your old best friend, my little brother acid and leave him alone tripping in a room with my mothe and 7 yr old sister sleeping in the next room. This motherfucker ... o well it has taken my brother 4 years to recover. In & out of different hospitals. Now Thank God he is back to his normal self, and drug free. Well besides his meds, but he is really great, and no side effects, and they are taking him off slowly. Well I have always felt guilty about this in a way, for smoking weed with him back in the day to leaving him in Va by himself. If i could change time who knows what i would do. I am not God and I cant do anything about it. All I can do is learn from this, and LIVE my own LIFE. i have been drug free too..besides occasionally smoking weed.

#296200Post 21 of 59

how old he was? I started to take shit at 14, first weed, then some opiates, a bit fucked up my health. Now i'm also almost free, alcohol, weed, trip once a year or take some cox. But i can control it

Re: anyone have any regrets in life?

Yeah, I think I have regrets on occassion and then I realize I wouldn't be where I am today if those situations hadn't happened which then turns into being greatful, somehow.

#297730Post 23 of 59

i regret 50% of my past life. this is very sad.

haha.. thats funny thats what you took outta my book..

well i have learned lots lessons in my time & sure im gonna learn 5x more.. prolly why am where i am today..

well the jury is still out.. i am beginning to weigh my options, figure out what i want, & make a plan.

#297778Post 26 of 59

tien i might have had the same thing happen to my brother, "good" thing he saw me go to shit so it scared him enuff to not try it. He was very young and i always regreted it him seeying that but now i think it's for the better. Now he only smokes weed but when he asks me about the other stuff i try to keep him in line, tell em about the negative aspects n such. I don't want him to experience my shit.

#297890Post 27 of 59

None, you take the positive out of your regrets they are a life long learning experience:)

Re: anyone have any regrets in life?

getting behind the wheel drunk and getting my dwi, that was a dumb thing. it took a lot out of me financially and emotionally.

But the biggest regret I have was not spending more time with my grandfather. He was my best friend growing up, took me places and gave me nothing but love all the time.

He passed away on October 1 of this year.

This one goes to him.

Rest in peace.

I also got a DUI during my days at Penn State Univ. It was stupid and it's still costing me a lot finacially in car insurance.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather EZ.

I'm also live in MD. I live in the Towson area.

#298201Post 35 of 59

My biggest regret is that in early to mid-90s, I saw the tech boom coming. I was working a 9-5 job in the city, reading the Wall St Journal on the train, noticing how much tech was starting to blow up. I then feel back into the club scene and was too busy partying to see how right I was. By the time I came back down to earth, I pretty much missed the whole thing.

Oh well, like the previous poster said, lesson learned. I will NOT miss the next "gold rush." (eyes pealed for new trends developing....)

#298205Post 36 of 59

no not really.

i tend to learn from my mistakes. i also have a value system that in anything that does not kill you makes you stronger.

Everyone has regrets. Thing is you can't live life in the past. Learn from it and move on. Sure there are many thing I wish I did different but it is to late to change it now. Just get over it. Think about the futuer and you can change that not the past.
