Re: Lexus IS-F
Lexus looks so Mazda'ish. Never did it for me...
How about you get some real wheels. Beamer, Mercedes, Audi, ...
Btw, I can already imagine the convos on the strip in Indianapolis:
Re: Lexus IS-F
Lexus has added every bit of their electronic/computerized prowess into building the IS-F, dumped as much horse power into it as they could squeeze out and made driver input so minimal in tight corners and aggressive driving patterns, you'd might as well rent out a simulator for your PS3, and then when you're done with your gamer time, get out there into your 3 series and enjoy what a driver's car is meant to be.
Re: Lexus IS-F
So, whats wrong with programming Linux?
I love the IS-f those sob's are so fast, and they look awesome (to me)
I still have a love for the BMW 3 (4 dr) sport package. yeeeow!
and the new RS4 and the regular s4 Audi.

Re: Lexus IS-F

Re: Lexus IS-F
For a mere $105,885 you could have the 2009 LS Hybrid...I may get one in silver and another one in black...

Yeah I am sure you are right, I have just seen a couple and know they are quick as shit and wanted to check them out, even though I am sure the BMW handles better.

Don't get my wrong I love the 335i I have, the thing is fun as shit to drive. Some guy in my apt complex has a RS4 and was eyeing my car when I pulled into my garage the other day, his RS4 is a pretty sweet ride, it is expensive though. That Lexus is pretty damn pricey too, about 60k  I wouldnt buy it new.
Re: Lexus IS-F
It’s been slated for poor driver response in Australia as well. If I’m paying the $105K AU sticker price for a Japanese car I expect more than leading edge technology and above average horsepower. To be fair the only Japanese car that tickles my fancy in that price range is the GTR – two totally different cars, but as far as value propositions go what holds a candle to the GTR?

Re: Lexus IS-F
just get a s2000 and mail the saved money to me :)
Re: Lexus IS-F
GTR > GTB when it comes to value for money. Apparently the ISF tries really hard to be 'every thing you thought we weren't' as Lexus tries to put it....But Fails....It's practical & gets the job done withouth raising the hairs on your back. It's got all the traits of a sport saloon, exhaust note, aggresive stance, good brakes etc etc but it falls short when it comes to the driving experience.
Re: Lexus IS-F
which car breaks more? bmw's or lexus'? All of my friends who drive m3's and 5 series have the most expensive problems with theirs...like $1K for a sunroof issue, etc... thats what keeps me from buying one personally.
Re: Lexus IS-F
^ Not to optimistic about the Beamarz are ya? Lol @ your friends.. what part of Socal you guys from man?
That Lexus is sick by the way.

yeap, beemers aren't the most dependable rides on the planet, but thats' not what beemers were built for ;)
If you're buying a sports car to give you good gas mileage and be dependable so you can carry your groceries around town, forget an M3, you have no reason to even looking at an IS-F
yeap, beemers aren't the most dependable rides on the planet
that i didnt know!
i thought they were well built and robust
i imagined they cost a small fortune to fix, but arent they dependable?

in today's autoworld, dependability is 2 fold. Mechanically and Electronically. Bimmers suck balls on the latter, they'll outlive the oldest member of your family in the former. So if you're ok racing around your M3 with 2 windows stuck halfway and an A/C that's not doing shit when its 108 outside your window, then it's a sure bet it'll reach you to your destination, you just wont enjoy it as much.
Re: Lexus IS-F
so what are Audis like?
Re: Lexus IS-F
haven't read much on the newer ones, but thats because Audi's were consistently terrible (pre 2004 models) on both mechanical and electrical fronts and so I just lost much interest in reading up on them. but considering that in the last year and half, they're one of the top 3 companies recording the strongest sales and sales growth (in the US), they must be doing something right.
Re: Lexus IS-F
Audis give me a stirring in my pants (like BM used to)
they are aesthetically the mutts at the minute.
either way i'm gonna shut up because there is no way i cant afford even a used one!
Re: Lexus IS-F
^^Word. Most can't afford one, and here some people are talking about being less of a person for owning one of these over a BMW or Audi....Sad state of affairs for us humans.....

San Diego, friends from RB to La Jolla, all have bmw's, some can afford them more than others. Ya its a car you have to be able to throw a couple grand into periodically and if you can't, don't get one (regarding the m3). Either way I'm in Florida at the momen. This is the 5series my friend picked up after totalling his m3, that was a fun car, with dinan everything done to it...I've been driving my roomates '07 335i alot recently...the body is way sicker than the older model.

Re: Lexus IS-F
I am not going to keep my 335i unless it is under warranty. BMW's are too expensive outside the full coverage warranty to repair.

The new M5 Touring redlines at 8,250rpm. 507hp and 520Nm of torque propel the car from zero to 62mph in 4.8 seconds (only 0.1 seconds slower than the Saloon). The M5 Touring would be capable of achieving 200mph while still transporting the largest of loads.
