You think we can start an [ms] poll and let it rule the world :?:

Spread the world to all your peeps and let them know where the realy poll of anti-chees is taking place.... if yes, let me know and I'll post the DJ's ALPHABETICALLY on here....

Seeing as the 'Tiesto takes over from Digweed' rumour spread so fast we could definitely do some end of the year awards ? best DJ, best track, etc.

Of course we know who will win...

Re: WTF is up with the DJ Mag Poll ?

Go for it!! Although if there was a way to let non-members vote it would be even bigger! 8)

#290882Post 4 of 33

good point, I could set up a public Poll on here which will take no time at all, only problem is, once you delete your cookies, you can come back and rig the poll

Re: WTF is up with the DJ Mag Poll ?

It is really a total joke....I mean some of the djs that did not even make it into the top 100 really blows my mind.....I could care less about the poll, to me it means absolutely nothing...

#290898Post 6 of 33

i think its a cool idea just to see how the votes turn out. of course, you do know that these polls are also going to be very biased.

#290924Post 7 of 33

but thats the idea, biased or not biased, cheese and progressive EDM are NOT connected..... the trance addicts can have their votes but not when sasha and diggz dominate the scene.....

you cant have Sepultura and Celine Dion in the same damn category

-e-

#290926Post 8 of 33

haha... well if we are just trying to find out who is the best on the progressive scene, then that is a good idea :)

i think it'd be cool for dj mag to seperate its polls out by main category (ie trance, house, prog, break). if they still want to have the main top 100 thing too, i guess that ok as well. :)

#290942Post 9 of 33

I say do it. Even I am sure it might be a little biased but it would be nice to see what everyone else thought should be number on instead of tiesto. Again.

#291025Post 10 of 33

do it do it!

#291034Post 11 of 33

Re: WTF is up with the DJ Mag Poll ?

i used to pay attention to the poll but ever since the cheese trancers started to dominate i have no use for it anymore.

#291040Post 12 of 33

in my opinion an ms poll would be just as biased..... however in the other direction.

#291042Post 13 of 33

but at least we would have "good" music to reflect upon.

not that other garbage-choke-myself-bag stuff

Re: WTF is up with the DJ Mag Poll ?

Wow, I'm Glad someone brought this up...that poll is pretty ridiculous (even though we have probably ALL looked at it.)

A few years ago, I read the entry for BT. (Paraphrasing), he said that he had just picked up DJing that year; he felt he had better, because someone called him the previous year (in which he had first been ranked in the poll) and said 'hey, look..you're ranked as one of the top 100 DJs', when he had never DJ'd.

funny. (hats off to BT for pointing that out)

#291060Post 15 of 33

:HolyShit: WTF man? something stinks with dj mag pool. can't be that many people who enjoy his music this much :? i always hated his music even when i listened to trance 5 years ago :Tomato t: good idea making a dj pool here ;)

sounds like a good idea, but we all know (according to how the people on the board talk) that Digweed will be #1, Sasha #2, and Hernan #3. I wouldn't vote for any of the three, but it'd still be nice to see who the top 50-100 progressive DJs are.

#291134Post 18 of 33

I think members here should nominate the DJs to be in the poll - then make it public.

#291152Post 19 of 33

good thinking.... easiest way would be to copy and paste the DJ Mag poll and edit the DJ's on there

-e-

#291211Post 20 of 33

would be fun to see, but hard to chose only one dj

#291212Post 21 of 33

^ dj mag lets you list 5, dont they? thats the way perhaps we should handle it...

#291314Post 22 of 33

 THAT POLL BLOWS DONKEY BALLS!!!!!!!!!ANYONE WHO KNOW'S ANYTHING ABOUT DJ'ING KNOWS THIS LIST IS A CROCK!!!!!!LET'S PUT A TEISTO SET NEXT 2 JAMES ZABEILA AND SEE WHICH ONE IS BETTER!!! BESIDES TRANCE SUX!!!!!!!

#291318Post 23 of 33

hahaha... did you think of cutting and pasting that all by your lonesome? :) j/k dude... i agree.

Re: WTF is up with the DJ Mag Poll ?

ok here we go, the ones in red have got to go, since i havent heard a lot of the DJ's, I'm not sure that their style is, so just correct me or edit the list and I'll make the poll. List is sorted alphabetically for easy look up.

There's probably more but I've just done it quickly... :D

#291480Post 28 of 33

paul louth, low end specialists & desyn masiello?

on a more local north america scene: lance cashion & habersham... not sure how big this list needs to be though.

#291485Post 29 of 33

let it be as big as it can, we'll just list the ones in the top 50 MS list....... I'm already researching php based multi-voting scripts, should be up soon ;)

-e-

#291486Post 30 of 33

Nic Fanciulli :D

#291488Post 31 of 33

so e - are people going to have to choose from a list? or are you saying that people can choose whomever they want, but only the top 50 will show?

:HungOver:

#291490Post 32 of 33

You're doing this wrong. Someone should make a website that allows you to input your 5 favorite DJs, 5 votes through 1 vote for each. Similar to TheDJlist.com (which is also skewed)

#291492Post 33 of 33

you got a php script I can implement for that ?? Also I was thinking, since this poll will show % of votes, multi-voting doesnt make sense since if one user goes ahead and gives votes to the same DJ, then it'll throw the record off track. You just have on favorite DJ and THAT"S IT!
