Wow, those pictures are extraordinary. Kudos to you. How did you gather information for the sites you wanted to visit? Do you have friends over there or did you use a travel agency? I'm so used to seeing pictures from Tokyo all lit up like Times Square and hardly ever get to see the "other" Japan (the mountain ranges, valleys, temples, etc.). Thank you for sharing those and I look forward to more!

The Trip was planned by a Travel Agency!! It's really difficult to travel on your own if u wanna see small villages or temples/shrines far away from the big cities. I only met one japanese girl which studied in England, and was able to communicate in english. All the others didn't speak english. It's incredible. They have English Lessons in School (6 years) and no one uses it.

Time to get some sleep...will post more informations soon.

Re: Impressions of Japan

The Trip cost me 3.500 EUROS. 14 Days (Inclusive Flight, Bus Transfer, Train Transfer, Lodging in Hotels, 1 Day Guesthouse, 1 Day Monastery, Museums, Temples & Shrines)

I had amazing two weeks in japan. Can't tell which place was the best, but i really liked the japanese hotel 'Hatsuhana' in Hakone. They got an Onsen (Thermal Spring) made of Stones, which was outside. Japanese like it hot (40 - 43 Celsius/104 - 109.4 Fahrenheit). The Dinner was incredible...everyone was wearing those yukatas (light kimono made of cotton) on that evening. And we sat on the floor on small pillows like all japanese people do. The meal was huge...we had miso soup (sort of fishsoup), sashimi (raw fish without rice), sushi, sojacream, tempura (fried vegetables)...and so much more. We also had a Geisha for Entertainment (Singing and fan dance).
