The mark farina mushroom jazz series is pretty laid back, got a few sets i can upload if you want. Apart from that i dont really listen to much else apart from wu tang clan and the artists that make up that group.

While I remember, not strictly hip hop but should check out Aim, Thievery Corporation and Rae and Christian too. Think that's the kind of things you're after

Yep, #5 is really good from a hip-hop standpoint.

Check out Herbaliser for sure.

Not sure if I'd call it "chilled," but Jurassic 5 is jazzy and melodic, with the rappers actually harmonizing. Also, it's just great stuff.

Re: Chilled Hip-Hop

Nice recommends Folks.

If you liked Mushroom Zazz and are interested in "Chilled Hip Hop" then you probably will enjoy anything Jazz, Funk, Soul etc. etc. from last century. Down-tempo/ Trip Hop and Chillout are doing some great stuff with Hip Hop fusions as well. Remember too that Hip Hop was founded off old breakbeats and electro in the 70's.

As far as more recent true school Hip Hop goes though, I would recommend researching these few acts: Dj Premier/Gangstarr, Visionaries, People Under The Stairs, D.I.T.C (digging in the crates), Artifacts, Aceyalone, Little Brother, Digable Planets, Binary Star, Black Moon, Smiff n Wessun, Afu Ra, Group Home and Jeru the Damaja. A lot of these crews are associated and affiliated with each other, seeing as though "the underground" sticks together usually, so expect quality gems. Furthermore they all are pretty much old school and therfore thier much older stuff is golden. "Rap - lies = Hip Hop"

Re: Chilled Hip-Hop

zero 7. miguel migs also does some trippy chilled stuff.

Caia. I HIGHLY recommend this group. I heard them on Pandora one day and immediately bought the album, "The Magic Dragon".

A calaboration between Maiku Takahashi and Andy Cato (of the infamous Groove Armada).

this track always gives me goosebumps
