Re: Clubbing in New York - any recommendations?

Haha - unless they're chewing their face of though eh?

I just hope we manage to find somewhere where the music rocks - obviously google is no help (unless I want to spend from now until then checking all the hits I got!).

Any progressive New Yorkers on here?

Guess i'll just have to make sure I go to Bedrock 10th BDay in anticipation of not been able to find anywhere

Re: Clubbing in New York - any recommendations?

You'll get some good replies soon enough. There is a good handful of new yorkers here... maybe not as much as Floridians but they're here
bar 13 and other one off clubs. blk market membership parties. tamiur and co. solid as fk. http://www.blkmarketmembership.com/
Sadly, they're done throwing parties at Bar 13 :(

Jenks hit a lot of good marks there, but I'd add to the mix Sullivan Room and LOVE (very much depending on the night) and quite a few places in Brooklyn (though those are more techno/tech-house).

Most parties in NYC don't post until the month before, so check again around November and I'm sure you'll find quite a few good nights to hit :Bingo:

Re: Clubbing in New York - any recommendations?

Cheers PPL - your suggestions are appreciated! I will check them out.

I know its ages away but im excited - its my first holiday since I went to Ibiza in 2000. The holiday before that was Skegness in 96 (for those not from the UK - let me just say that Skegness is not exactly the best of destinations!). So yes - long overdue!

Did anyone go to Twilo when it was open? Thats somewhere I always wanted to go.

So I guess I have to go visit Mom that night?

I hate how you constantly dictate my plans Alex.

ok, no one from nyc gets to complain about the state of clubbing there. you guys have a veritable feast of good clubs and music compared to most cities in north america.

Re: Clubbing in New York - any recommendations?

last year i went to NY and saw that trentemoller was playing at a club, so me and my friends go there and at the entrance there people didnt look quite as i expected. When we got in there were two fellas with short jeans dancing on each side of the dj and tons of guys making out and dancing with eachother. Now everytime i listen to Trentemoller i get this image in my head that has made me stay away from his productions lol. dont go to BANK :P

Re: Clubbing in New York - any recommendations?

One of the best progressive clubs today has to be Pasha in Hell's Kitchen - check out www.pashanyc.com. You can't go wrong they have the best progressive guest DJs including Brooklyn's own Victor Calderone spinning often. Go there - the memories will be great when you return.

Tampa was a bit difficult for me as far as finding decent places that played decent music..Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but it was lacking some underground..But I will say, that the events that you guys put on seemed to always be a hit...Even though I only attended a few of them...The vibe surrounding THM was always fresh.

I would love to give NYC a try one of these days...

actually, i was watching the food channel, and i kid you not they did a whole half an hour special on the steaks at that place. aged beef like i've never seen. they had these giant sides of beef just curing for weeks, the most marbled steaks ever. the host was practically drooling on himself as he ate.

they may not be the absolute best steaks in nyc, but they have to be up there.

ohh ya, i've eaten at a fair few of 'em. my cousin was a managing director at an investment bank in nyc for 10+ years, and liked to use is expense account when we came to town. i have had meals there that made my eyes roll back into my head.
