I read in his latest interview that he'll be playing LA again this year. Does anyone know when the full details will come out for this? I know it's still 2 months away, but some friends and I are trying to plan a trip out there.

Has anyone seen him out there on NYE in the past? Any guesses on who will have the opening slot? (I'm praying for Jon Lisle :Naughty: )

Re: Diggers NYE 2004->2005

I also just found out that Avalon is booked with a different show for this night....any ideas on where he would be playing? There is no way I'd travel all the way out there to see diggers play a 2 hour set at the huge giant party! :evil:

I'm sure more info will come available as it gets closer to the date....

I'll probably just hit up the Drop Bass party or see what Sound In Motion or Jay have planned for Minneapolis as it falls on a Friday this year.... Gotta save that cash for WMC :)

Shawn or Zabel going with you?

here's the email from giant re: nye

Here?s an expanded glimpse of what?s in store this New Year?s Eve at the GIANT Village...

The Event... we are taking it back to the tree-lined streets of the New Downtown Los Angeles this year, where we have ample room to provide 4 stages of entertainment on one level without capacity restrictions within the event. Offering 4 city blocks centered on prestigious Wilshire Boulevard, the GIANT Village will feature abundant bars, massive outdoor dance floors, indoor lounges, the GIANT Ferris Wheel and much more to be unveiled over the next two months.

Talent... well rounded is an understatement as we roll out the best of the best. One stage features a six hour set by John Digweed on a custom Funktion-One Sound System, another stage features Paul Oakenfold, The Crystal Method and America?s hottest new band who?ll rock the GIANT Village to another level (more on that later), and Mark Farina headlines another stage set within the BPM Arena.

Tickets... advance tickets for the GIANT Village are $75, the same price they?ve been for the last 3 years... tickets are available now at all 5 Virgin Megastores (with a free CD from your choice of GIANT Village artists... click here for details). Starting this Monday, October 25, tickets will also be available online via Groovetickets (with Fed Ex shipping to eliminate Will Call lines), at all Ticketmaster outlets and, beginning Monday, November 1, at various independent retail outlets. A limited number of VIP tickets will be offered, more details to follow.

Hotel Rooms... in the coming weeks, we will announce room rates and reservation information for the three GIANT Village hotels, with a total of 2000 luxury rooms, located within one block of the event. We will offer the best rates available, click here for details.

Stay tuned as our website evolves with updates. We look forward to seeing you this New Year?s Eve (and sooner at our club nights) and thank you for your continued support as we present our 5th Annual New Year?s Eve Celebration.

Re: Diggers NYE 2004->2005

Why does he play in L.A. every New Years Eve? I wish I would live in L.A.

6 hour set! :RockOn:

Re: Diggers NYE 2004->2005

It's good to see that Diggers got a 6 hour slot at an event like this (I was thinking he would only play 2-3). If some other solid names get added (i.e. Howells, Burridge, etc.) I may consider this. There is something about 12,000+ people on NYE that doesn't sit well with me......would of prefered seeing the man in a much smaller venue!

Re: Diggers NYE 2004->2005

darn.. wish diggers would play at NYC for new years. since he played at LA last year...bleh....LA a repeat? :(

the most important thing is not who opens, it's the SPEAKERS. Funktion-One speakers are simply the best PA speakers ever built. I use them for our festivals in Japan, and the artists cannot believe their ears. It's like listening to studio monitors that can cover a football field.

sasha was in ny last NYE i think, at avalon. Tha party was aiite, Diggers was in La. There was supposed to be an uplink of the set in one room but that was found out to be bululshit.. o well I can honestly care less who spins NY though, I hope to get out of NY. Hawaii maybe? Ha I wish

i'm actually glad that oakenfold is spinning there that night. it'll take all the 'tards away from the digweed stage. should be an amazing night.

My friend actually asked him the last time he played here in Los Angeles at the Mayan... His reply: "Because I fucking want to."
