Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
board up the windows, buy some weed, get some gas for the backup generator, and throw down some house rekkids. that's how i've done it.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
lol, yeah they always tend to overhype these events dont u think?? i mean its not going to have too much time to really develop into a real powerfule storm.
and of course most of the models show it heading straight for tampa!! i am staying home like always.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Hopefully we'll just get some good surf out of it :D
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
I'm probably going to put the shutters on my son's room, my room and the sliding gas door and leave the front open. Going to fill up the tank and get some gas for the generator in a bit, but I'm not expecting too much from this one.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Yeah, it's probably nothing like we've had before. We can handle it. :)
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
So it might not vortex into a hurricane then? Take sum pics if u can.. stay safe; have a good one!
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Vortex? I hope not. We wouldn't know where we were or what time it was.

Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Just as I opened this thread our weather radio went off for a tropical storm warning.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Just a normal rainy day here in Ft. Lauderdale so far, but should pick up later in the day.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
We probably won't see anything until tomorrow! I'm all the way up to Volusia.

With the exception of the NOGAPS model, the computer models have finally come into agreement on a landfall, with their 8 am EDT runs. The consensus is that landfall will be in Southwest Florida, between Marco Island and Fort Myers. Marco Island is my guess of a landfall location given the trend of Fay to track to the right of the forecast. With Fay's expected track nearly parallel to the shore, though, a slight deviation in the path will result in a large change in where the eye comes ashore. Storm surge will be a major concern to the region just to the right of where the center comes ashore. For the Naples region, a Category 1 hurricane can generate storm surges of 4-8 feet (Figure 2). Both the GFDL and HWRF models are forecasting a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 80-90 mph at landfall. Fay does not have time to intensify into a Category 3 hurricane before a landfall in Southwest Florida. If Fay follows a track further north and makes landfall near Tampa Bay, as the NOGAPS model predicts, there is a 10% chance it couuld intensify into a Category 3 hurricane.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay

Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
It rained just a smidget this morning. But later tonight we will get a lot!
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Where are you at Dredd?

Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Don't go windsurfing!
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
supposedly its gonna pass over me today, coming through the east coast. It'll be nothing but lots of rain by the time it gets here though. I was hoping for a nice big storm before I left, but it looks like just a slight pisser. that's just floridas lack-luster way of saying goodbye to me :-p
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Well at least we gave you rain

Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
havent seen a drop of rain yet.. a gust here and there.. they always make these out to be bigger than they are, lol.
my office closed, and its fucking sunny out, lol
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
windy here, occasional quick heavy rains when a feeder band comes through, got in a 90 min.surf session earlier this morning. Fair conditions (waist to chest high and choppy), but anyday you can catch a decent break in South Beach is a good day.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
well, weather its a sunny day out, or a windy rainy day, stay safe fellas. At least you have substantial warnings for preperation.
Over here in l.a., earthquakes catch you with your pants down taking a big shit while being hung over!
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Winds are really starting to pick up here now. Supposedly this thing is going to exit just below me in Brevard.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
I didn't have to go to work. Not much damage was done, which is good. It has been raining all day with high winds..Nothing more.
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
rained here for about 5 minutes.. i was looking forward to a nice rainy and windy day to enjoy my special truffles
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
I got tomorrow off as most of the boat companies in Volusia, Flagler, and Brevard counties decided to close. Its been somewhat calm here in Port Orange(just south of Daytona Beach). But if figure tonight will be worse. I'm more worried about tornadoes off this then anything.

Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
Did you guys see that video on cnn about the kitesurfer!!
Re: Floridians: Tropical Storm Fay
its in one of the other threads.. pretty sad
Fay is still regrouping off the coast, looking at the radar, this could be bad
