Im finally going to start...

Yah im a noob...but i need your help MS members....my sisters wedding is coming up and im planning to throw an afterparty....so im actively searching craigslist for some good quality used equipment for good prices. Im almost done with a dealing with a Pioneer DJM-500 for $400... im also settling on getting a Pioneer CDj-800 and a CDJ-200...both for 600 bux...thats a mixer and 2 cdjs...i hope its not unusual to have 2 different cdj's....but anyhow...whats left? A stand...coffin...spkr...wiring? Can anyone clear up what kind of wiring I will need and give some recommendations for anything I should have? And am i missing anything else? Thanks

btw wats better a pioneer DJM-500 for 400 bux or a DJM-400 for the same price?

It shouldn't be too bad with two different decks, that is, if you can get used to it..I think they may be slightly diff as far as pitch control goes??

You don't need to go out and buy the best set of monitors for now...You could get away with a regular stereo receiver and some decent home speakers...I've survived on mine for a long time....

The DJM-400 is fully digital and WAY better with effects than the 500 which was just an underpowered version of the 600. The 400 will probably last you longer too since it's new.

The 400 is new and looks cleaner, but the 500 has 2 extra channels. One can always find a use for an additional channel or two.

For me it'd come down to the condition of the 500

500 was my first mixer back in the 90s. loved it, then grew to hate it. the new 400 is leaps and bounds better than the 500. unless you plan on playing three things at once (doubtful), you'll be able to hook up as much stuff as you need on the 400 too, just will have to switch.
