New York gets an electronic music festival Minitek in mid-September, which will feature three days of techno with sets from Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Magda, Guy Gerber and many more.

New Yorkers love to say that anything you need, you can get in New York, but over the last few years one thing the city has lacked is a proper techno festival. Enter the Minimoo crew, who’ve been bringing top minimal/techno artists to the Big Apple, and who are planning two days and two nights of beats this summer.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but out of curiosity what do you not like about tiefschwarz? I actually find a several of these other djs to be inconsistent given the last 2-3 times I have seen them (ahem MANDY). WHich has me hoping vs. is back to back sets rather than trading of in one set... Sincerely, tiefschwarz fan club

ps...in what way is coney island close to downtown manhattan since this was the stated location for the day venue? did permits fall through?

So did anyone get into Penn Plaza last night? Myself and my crew were getting frantic phone calls around 2 this morning saying.The door people were only letting in V.I.P ticket holders. So even though we had bought a w/e pass we could't get in. Hopefully today will go better.

Now tonight's venue is moved to studio B which is in bumblefuck Brooklyn and has a capacity of 600 people only.

Also the coney party ran out of booze and beer at 6pm or so.

Just got back from coney island.saw monoblock?and whoever was after them.also saw at bit of heidi on the other stage.that 2nd stage didn't get going till about 630.I was lucky enough to get a beer.coors lite.gonna try to go to studio b for tonight.also heard another venue europa.I also heard if you file a complaint on the minitek website they will refund your money. Ya righ.lol.

It wouldn't be so bad if the express train thru Manhattan wasn't down. Took me 2.5 hours to get to coney island from the Bronx. And 2 hours home from bum fuck studio b. Not going today, 4 hours on the metro then 4 hour bus home. No thanks.

wow. From what I'm reading here and hearing from others, it sounds like this is turning out to be a fucking disaster... a shame, seems like this happens all too often in the EDM scene. Glad I didn't go.

I agree with Miro, I'm glad I didn't go. Sounds like these promoters need to learn how to throw a large party correctly. Perhaps they should go asking the guys who throw the Love Parade in Berlin...Those guys know how to throw a party.

well, friday night i was pretty upset, locations were too far too. it was hard to get around. but cooney island was EMAZING! the night venues were not good. studio B was fun but magda playds a boring ass set and who ever that was before her. marc houle and format b were playing back to back which they sarted pumping beats. but it was 6 am by than and i could no longer stand of my feet after 14 hours of dancing. sunday also fantastic troy kiled IT and AUDION! just wow i was speachless. just sO goood! although there were alot of problems i have to say i had one hell of a weekend. ps. marco corola and maco osanu were fantastic @ rebel. memek @ rebel very good aswell.

yea, unfortunately the festival was a mess in many way but the music at coney island was ridiculous!! it definitely made up for all that went wrong...

i have a car so going to & from coney island wasn't a problem..

guy gerber at coney island on sunday was the best set of the festival...he was relentless!!!
