Re: Earthquaaaaakeee!!

hope everyone is ok... that's the tradeoff with Cali: it's beautiful, but you're sitting on a time bomb.

Re: Earthquaaaaakeee!!

just want to get this in for the record:

-when the earth is shaking beneath your goddamn feet, the only things that should live in the area are small rodents and plants.

Re: Earthquaaaaakeee!!

Still can't predict earthquakes.

I'll take my chances, throw a beach party.

Re: Earthquaaaaakeee!!

Hope you're all ok and there isn't too much damage ... the (fairly) recent minor earthquake in the uk was an interesting experience.

Re: Earthquaaaaakeee!!

Hope everyone is ok!!!

I'm sitting in the data center after a huge thunderstorm took out our UPS and crashed all of the servers...it's going to be a long night :( All this stuff going on makes you wonder about 2012! whistles innocently into the wind

I agree...I stayed in an earthquake zone for two months and I thought about it everyday. I've felt one about the same magnitude as this one and I don't like it one bit!

yes the media pushes stupid shit all day, but an earthquake, especially in california (where they happen often) is news, it could be a preliminary quake to a much larger one

actually when you are in a 12 story building and you're at the top, it doesn't feel like a baby ass earthquake so your remarks are rather insensitive. all i know is i saw buildings moving from side to side from the 12th floor of another building and it made me pretty nervous. although it was small, i'm glad it wasn't a big earthquake because we had shit falling off tables and shelves and people freaking out. thank god i am flying home to atlanta tomorrow... gtfo of la. :)

    Re: Earthquaaaaakeee!!

yeah 5.4 is small to the unfamiliar unexperienced. My wife who was on the 40th floor would slap the shit out of you!

tokyo is so well prepared though.

everytime i'm there, there is tremors but the buildings are so well engineered that no one bats an eyelid!

You'd be suprised...I believe like 3 days ago I felt like I was on a boat in the water. Our Japanese counterparts bounced down to the 1st floor and my ass sat there because I thought It was the beer from the other night. Alot of buildings might "seem" prepared but what about everyone else, Tokyo is so built up and built on top of itself that I honestly think the Japanese may have met their match. It's not their fault, its population that rules the roost... Our building has some so called shock absorbers underneath it but I ask is it really ready? Are Tokyo and Cali. really ready for the big one :?: Can someone say the big quake of 0-8?
