It's THAT time again and boy have I got something special for you this time!

This Thursday's .AUdio features one of the hottest DJs and producers on the planet: MATTHEW DEKAY! This live set has never been released before, and is the perfect example of just why Dekay is tearing dancefloors apart with his awesome party style. I've decided to couple this with an excellent promo from one of my favourite local guys, Simon Bell. Simon's set compliments Matthew's brilliantly - so hang in there for the cherry on top!

Show format looks like this:

Matthew Dekay: live at Sweetchilli, Sept 11 2004 (2 hours) Simon Bell: September 2004 promo (1 hour)

(Note that Matthew's set is NOT the same as the pre-recorded set used on FBi from the same date and featured on DJMixes2k.)

New York: Thurs Oct 21 - 5pm Los Angeles: Thurs Oct 21 - 2pm London: Thurs Oct 21 - 10pm Sydney: Fri Oct 22 - 7am

Yet another exclusive shithot set - only on .AUdio :)

Sounds wicked .. please let somebody rip this as I was too late (shame on me!!_

#283538Post 14 of 34

Glad you guys are enjoying it. :)

At this point in time there's no approval for it to be released as an MP3 I'm afraid.

I'm working on it... but you'll just have to catch the Proton broadcasts for now!

#283564Post 15 of 34

Re: MATTHEW DEKAY: Oct 21 (.AUdio on Proton)

it was the originale Dekay's style!! btw, i would have been listening to the mick burns's track than simon bell's chords

#283764Post 16 of 34

I turned on Mr. Recorder yesterday before this set came on, and when I came in to work today I had all sorts of goodies waiting for me! Shit... sets from Matthew Dekay, Shiloh, Hernan Cattaneo, and Nils Noa are going to get me through the day.

thanks man for the set! :Bingo:

i'm hearing dekay tommorow in thessaloniki greece! it's going to be beautiful night!!

#283847Post 19 of 34

i like some of his productions, but that's some seriously cheesy music he dropped there. that 2nd track is truly awful tiesto/paul van dyke rubbish.

#283866Post 20 of 34

Great show Grant. Was able to catch a little bit of it last night but I was unable record so I really hope this was recorded and someone is going to share. Grant keep bringing the great sets man.

#283893Post 21 of 34
but that's some seriously cheesy music he dropped there. that 2nd track is truly awful tiesto/paul van dyke rubbish.
Yeah, I agree. Some of the tunes in it go waaaay into some godawful trancey crap. I remember being more than a little horrified at the time, but the overall package is still very strong. It's also part of the reason the entire 3.5 hr set wasn't used.

Next month, .AUdio returns to my 4-hour schedule where there will be absolutely no trance in sight with a fookin' awesome extended workout from Scott Oliver. I'm really excited about that one.. he's absolutely unreal.

If you like Digweed's style (and who doesn't?) then you're going to LOVE the November .AUdio!

:Naughty:

Big ups for Grant indeed for letting these fine beats reach us :Bingo:

#284047Post 24 of 34

hey grant, care to tell us a bit more about this scott oliver fellow?

#284076Post 25 of 34

^^^^^ He is tighter then Diggers, is not afraid of 3 deck mixing some seriously good shit (usually tribaly/dark prog house)...

Haven't heard him since the last Reason a few months ago, but over the last 1.5 years I've heard him playing out, he's always out-staged anybody else he's played with on the night regardless of what or when he plays :)

--djway

#284103Post 26 of 34

this set was neither dark nor tribal

#284104Post 27 of 34

Scott Oliver's set? It's being played in November...Wasn't talking about Dekay or Bell.

#284124Post 28 of 34

 my bad

#284150Post 29 of 34

djway, thanks. scott oliver sounds like MY MAN. exactly the style i'm looking for. you seen any mixes of his on the web?

#284194Post 30 of 34

HOLY SHIT! The Scott Oliver set up on inthemix is unbelievable. It's a freaking masterpiece. The guy's weaving between progressive and tribal and underground trance like it's nobody's fucking business. I pity the poor "international" who goes on after a "warm-up" set from this guy. No way I would let this guy off the decks until the party's over.

#284541Post 31 of 34

Yeah, Scott's DJing is the absolute business for sure. :) He also happens to be my flatmate, so you can be sure of excellent music selection. ;) ;)

He's actually been working on the mix this weekend, and I can assure you we're in for an excellent showcase of brand fookin' new material.

If you're after other stuff of Scott's, you can hunt down "opaline75" on Soulseek and he has heaps of material. He's also on there a bit more than me, however you can search me out as "gtappers2" if you like and I'll help you out. All released .AUdio sets are in my shares.

Proton - keep it locked!

Re: MATTHEW DEKAY: Oct 21 (.AUdio on Proton)

Scott's the man.. still reeling from his May 2004 Promo   Can't wait for November's .AUdio... but then again, I say that about every month's .AUdio. I guess it's a given, eh?

#288091Post 33 of 34

Howdy folks.. :)

I've just put the Matthew Dekay set up on inthemix.com.au ...you can stream the entire thing at 32k or 128k right here:

http://www.inthemix.com.au/fm/18111/

I've also put Steve Gerrard's latest promo up as well, who's visiting our sunny shores in a month's time. Link for that is:

http://www.inthemix.com.au/fm/18112/

And you just never know what else is around the corner, do ya?! ;)

That's not usually a problem as most promoters give Scott the later sets so they like to get fucked up & go off to him. Plus he's just too hard to follow. He simply devastates dancefloors. Glad to see he's getting the attention he deserves. Been my favourite DJ for years.
