If so, or if not and you've thought about this sort of thing, what tune did your bridal party enter the reception to and what was your last song of the night? We are thinking Daft Punk - One More time for the entrance and not too sure on the final but maybe Underworld - Dark and Long. Any suggestions?

Re: Anybody here married?

yes, married. but we got married on a beach in mexico with toes in the sand. can't answer your question. all that stuff wasn't important to us, skipped it.

Re: Anybody here married?

i would suggest NOT doing electronic music and going with a jazz band.

i would bet that no professional DJ ever had electronic music at the reception.

rememeber, it's a Wedding, not the Terrace at Space.

actually, bradon block played seb fontaine's wedding.. dont ask why i know this, but i saw it in mixmag years ago.

i was at a wedding where that kid chris played, but it was afterwards in the bar at the hotel and the old folks had left.

Re: Anybody here married?

I just got married 3 months ago and can't tell ya what the music was. its wasn't electronic or anything. It really wasnt a big deal to me what anyone walked into. The lady picked it out. She pretty much did everything

My dad's a minister, so we came in to Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man." Probably won't work for you, though, unless your dad is also a minister. ;)

Re: Anybody here married?

years ago when two of my dear friends got married, they had a small reception at the brides fathers house where we set up the turntables. then we went to a cigar lounge the groom rented out and had a proper club night of our own. it went down in history with my crew. after the cigar lounge we ended up at Uncle Toms Cabin (a famous party house in tampa back in the day) and the bride & groom partied all night to me and a couple friends spinning for them. it all ended around 10am the following morning when police walked in the front door and told us "You Neighbors Hate You, Turn It Off" i shit you not, that happened. dont rule out having fun just cause you're signing your life over to a piece of paper and some finger bling.

Re: Anybody here married?

I can't remember what we walked in with as that was 13 years ago ;) But the wedding song was to Moodswings - Rainsong and I made the DJ play the whole thing  I can also tell you that there was some electronic played and everyone had a good time.

Re: Anybody here married?

Last song for me will always be In The Mood. Glenn Miller tune. I used to play at the Roof Ballroom in indianapolis, and we'd always close the nights out with this choon. always went down. even the stubborn husbands would get off thier chairs to dance. just a light and fun tune.

Re: Anybody here married?

There is a beautiful remix of Cafe Del Mar that is about 12min long, and it is perfect for a wedding. My friend Nat played it at her wedding, and it fit perfectly.

I will ask her what the remix is and get back to you ASAP

Re: Anybody here married?

seriously tho....

if i did have a proper wedding type thing, i wouldn't have done anything clubby type like underworld or anything. jazz is the perfect setting. dave brubeck, st. germain, coltraine, chet baker, billie holliday, milt jckson = way more classy for the situation.

Re: Anybody here married?

Yep married for 4 years now. We had sasha airdrawndagger playing during the ceremony. Think we had spooky 'believe' play when she walked down the aisle, the ambient mix. Had a Dj friend of mine keep it Edm during the reception. A very un traditional wedding indeed.

Re: Anybody here married?

Our parents walked into the Darth Vader's theme, the imperial march. They were not expecting it and it got a good laugh

We and the bridal party walked into Daft Punk - Music Sounds better with you.

We wanted her to walk down the aisle to the dramatic part of Solar Stone - Seven Cities but the nazi we had for a priest shot that down real quick.
