Hey all i just got the program and i must say it is hard to use. For me anyway :oops:.. So does anyone else use the program?? I am finding it hard to keep the beats in sync .. now i know there is a sync button there but when i use it it only stays together for like 10 second's .. Also i have not set up my internal speakers properly. I can hear the other track but how do i record?? Anyone that is a prob at using it hope u can help, cause i am a noob. The reason i am using is cause i have so many track's and i just wanna see what works with other track's. then burn them onto cd's. Thanks for any help

Traktor
Re: Traktor
i don't use it but if you bought it read the manual.... if not download the manual - http://www.nativeinstruments.de/fileadmin/redaktion_upload/pdf/Traktor26_Quick_Reference.pdf
not everyone was born to be a dj =D try some ice cream next time first.
Re: Traktor
Fuck you ^^ :D
Re: Traktor
i've used it before. Yeah that sync function sucks. You pretty much need an external controller to use with the pitch functions, as they are really hard to do with a mouse. Not bad for checking out new songs you just got with older ones, but i would never use it in a live situation.
Re: Traktor
^^no... I used tractor for about two years almost everyday its the best program ever for DJ-ing IMO (i tried most ableton, atom mix etc)
For syncing u can go to preferences/ hotkey setup and then u assign buttons to move the tempo up and to move the tempo down for each deck...u can do it with a mouse but assigning buttons makes it much easier to mix as u can then use the mouse for the fun stuff filters etc.
I have "A" as tempo + (up) for deck A and "Z" for tempo - (down) "S" tempo + on deck B and "X" for tempo -
also I have it set up for minimum sensitivity so i can mix absolute perfection (this is why I miss tractor compared when on CDJ's...+/- 0.01 BPM control)
as for your sound issues...you will need to clarify ur problem but most likely you should check in preferences for Audio setup/ output routing...
for recording LOL u press the big red record button...
hope that was helpful
Have fun :)
p.s. I have used tractor live only with a keyboard in a bar b4 and the results were really good until my laptop over heated LOL ...it was 38 degrees C outside...hot, humid summers are dangerous...
but its a great little program...having a midi controller is great only because effective equalizer control is very, very difficult...so u can't mix like Digweed but u can like Eric Prydz :)
Re: Traktor
^^thanks mate. Appreciate your work :D
Re: Traktor
have a look at this: http://www.djtechtools.com/2008/04/09/quickly-set-up-perfect-beat-grids/
the fastest way with great results ! Also the best way to go is with a controller and not the mouse or keyboard. I got my bcd3000 setup in traktor using a template called 'da browser by Arno' (downloaded from NI forum) and it gives me complete control. No more mouse or keyboard needed.
Re: Traktor
i actually just got a demo copy of it for my mac, and it seems the sync function on it set itself up just nicely for my studio. I hit that sync key and voila the songs were running together just fine.
Re: Traktor
Yes, it works on some tracks, not all. Especially when the mp3 is recorded from a vinyl. You get these very small pitch shifts during the whole track. I tried to mix without adding beatgrids and the result was that i had to constantly correct the pitch on some tracks, while when you add a beatgrid it stays at the same tempo during the mix. A lot less hassle... you should def give it a try, you'll be amazed ;)
Re: Traktor
I went through and beat grid all of my tracks, now I have no trouble launching tracks and having them play perfectly in sync without any sort of adjustment.
Re: Traktor
I finally used this at a gig on the weekend and man I love this program and with the combination of traktor scratch the possiblities were endless. I haven't been this active in a set since way back in the days i used vinyl. I love the fact it is so hands on and at the same time it allows you to pull a track apart and remix it on the fly! I can't wait to get the recording of my set off the promoter as i had some pretty cool loops and acapellas running on all four decks. Godbless technology!
