...anyone here that does it? I've done it before and picked it up since last september, but right now I'm really getting addicted. Love it, it's challenging and keeps me superfit in combination with my kickboxing and shite...and climbing chicks are sexiest and fittest on the planet (nice extra, no?).

Here's some pics:

There's a few more on my pixelpost blog, taken by myself (I'm the one on the wall on these) -see my sig for the linky...Gonna take my camera along again next time and if all goes as planned I'll be doing some bouldering just outside of Paris in Fontaine Bleau end of may (Ascension), and possibly near Marseille for a week or so next summer :D :D :D.

Re: Rock/Wall climbing...

Check the photoblog for that :D

If i succeed in doing an andvanced climbing course for climbing without the rope attached on top (carrying it along and attaching it to hooks as I go up), I am invited to join a party of climbers to open a new route in Burkina Faso next winter. The course I'll do anyway, but that would be awesome of course...

Climbing in Africa. Fuck yea.

Re: Rock/Wall climbing...

i got a friend whose started doing a course!

cant remember where she's off to, but she's going to do some crazy expedition.

i remember when i was younger i used to rock climb/abseil. used to love it, but then i kinda found booze and clubs!

Re: Rock/Wall climbing...

Ghehe, one doesn't necessarily exclude the other though? :D

I'd love to go on small expeditions involving climbing from time to time, Burkina might be the first one if actually happens (depends on job security). I'll kill myself if I can't travel and experience some crazy shit from time to time ;)

Re: Rock/Wall climbing...

tell me about it!

the state of my bank balance at the mo means i'm gonna be under house arrest for a while. at least i booked my holiday to malaysia. (in fact thats part of the problem of the major drain on my funds)

Re: Rock/Wall climbing...

started indoor wall climbing past fall... i must say i like it, but i don't have my own equipment yet, so it's kind of expensive...

seems like the rules here in germany aren't that strict, so i didn't have to take any special course in order to start lead climbing. and taking a look at the pictures, i'm not as fit as you :D

Re: Rock/Wall climbing...

hahaha, I'll have some ;)

I don't know about the rules in Germany McGyver, but they sure as hell won't let me lead climb without knowing for sure that I'm capable of it. I've done a few 4/5 meter drops (12/15 ft) and in a hall it's not that bad, but outside you also got sharp rocks to watch out for.

I'm doing both bouldering and wallclimbing right now, but a lot of people really choose between the two disciplines. I dont want to do that though, going up gives you stamina in the muscles while bouldering gives your muscles explosive strength. I like the combination of both, plus it made me do some cool stuff while hanging on a rope 50ft above the ground :D.

The pics i posted are bouldering, next sat I hope to shoot some wallclimbing pics...

Re: Rock/Wall climbing...

I've been into it for just over a year now, I have to say it's great. Only done indoor climbing and indoor bouldering so far, but there is a HUGE gym near where i work so it hasn't gotten old yet.

I've been more into bouldering lately. My doctor said it's great form of work out as it works all muscles equally and no impact.

Can't wait to try it outdoors sometime, but feel I need to get better first.

Re: Rock/Wall climbing...

I do level 5 boulders and 5c+ climbs, so if you're around that lavel don't hesitate to go outside -just be prepared and go with experienced people ;). I'm slowly moving towards 6a, and from there on things will get interesting again (had a lapse of about 4 yrs but did 6a/b when i stopped first).

Climbing just doesn't get old on me, maybe it's because of the basicness of the concept. I used to climb trees as a kid, now i climb walls and soon rock with hightech shit on me to keep me alive. We're nothing but crazy futuristic adrenaline monkeys i guess :D
