Re: can we stop with the "VORTEX" pls....

Maybe Digweed should call his next Mix CD series VORTEX. Maybe we should all email him until he does.:lol::lol:

In all serious though he is fucking brilliant at the moment.

I feel your pain, but bear in mind that if you don't like people talking about DJs like John Digweed and if you can't take people f'in around and joking about things (most of the "vortex" comments were not really serious), then you're probably going to have a hard time around here...cuz that's typically what goes down
"Aural transformations"...right. Listen to yourself man. Let's not forget that it's the music that evolves, and djs just follow suit.
LMFAO you're such a tool. ok so music evolves and dj's just play it. right? is that what you're saying? hahahahaha you have no idea how the music industry "evolves" obviously. dj's evolve along with music. dj's grow with the ever-changing music. dj's are the ones who create atmospheres with the music they decide to play rather than what you're used to - some EMO, lee hotti- playing track after track. if the people you hang with want to hear tracks being just played, cool. no hate there. but for me, and the people i hang with, we go to a club and see a world class dj CREATE an atmosphere of complete chaos with the music he/she plays and we get lost within it and thank the dj before we leave the club. we don't ask him where his/her hair straightener was purchased.
Music is what it is. Trying to put it or a musical experience entirely into words, or just one word is asinine
i blame this ignoranced statement on being young, and you probably haven't experienced a true musical experience. by this i mean going to a club or party or festival, listening to a band or dj (or any musician) create complete bliss with the music they play or create. so again don't hate those of us who have experienced it and LOVE IT.
That said ignoranced is not even a real word.
LMFAO. are you for serious? it isn't a word? hahahahaha no shit dipshit. i used that fuct up word because it seems to fit your brainframe and in that i mean, ignorance is the basis of all hatred. not knowing the true relevance of something and hating it is basically IGNORANCE. something of which i think you possess enormous amounts of.
if you are being in any way serious, go fuck yourself.
i sorta recognize your name and to me it seems like you should know my sense of humor this far in to your residence here at [ms], but if you don't thats fine. i don't take your elementary insults to heart. lmao it takes a bit more that GFYS to make my anus secrete.
Your comment indicates the only vortex you've been in is Digweed's ass.
/regarding jay fury's post/

hahahaha

his comments indicate that he has gone out, listened to music that rocks a thousand people, and has been one of the few that have actually had a "spiritual" experience within it. his comments also indicate a night of complete debauchery and fun that hopefully you will experience in your lifetime.

all that said, please excuse yourself from yourself, take a step back, evaluate the "hate" you expressed to me and please enlighten yourself with this thing that brought us all here in the first place:

Re: can we stop with the "VORTEX" pls....

pawned or rather Vagabond Being poor is no excuse for not traveling thousands of miles to go see Digweed or another world class DJ break some shite down. Look at all the people on this board making the treks to NYC, DC, Chicago or TO, for S&D, nut up and experience some audio insanity. poverty sucks but missing a show like Digweed @ Vagabond pretty much will have me in a bad mood for the rest of 2008, sometimes, you just have to be there. Big up to Jib for explaining this musical experience.

Re: can we stop with the "VORTEX" pls....

The wife and I have made sacrifices and traveled to:

London for Bedrock's 3rd & 6th Birthdays. Vegas, NYC (2) to see Diggers. Ibiza 3 times and have seen: Carl Cox, Goldie, Francois K, Diggers, Tenaglia, Lawler. England: Sasha, Seaman and last but not least... Newland

I'm happy we made the effort.:D

Emo has nothing to do with anything here. Hair straightener? And what is a lee-hotti?

It's the music that changes first, then the dj. Before any dj plays a track in his/her routine it has to get produced right? The two things don't happen simultaneously. You just expanded on my initial point a little bit. What does any of that have to do with being a tool?

My entire reason for posting in the first place was to show my slight agitation with people going a little too far when talking about Digweed's hair and this vortex stuff, not to belittle their experiences.

Re: can we stop with the "VORTEX" pls....

i believe her name is Chloe Harris.

#1000913Post 94 of 256

Re: can we stop with the "VORTEX" pls....

Think Chloe Harris was throwning that term around a while back.

Digweed's hair rules so do the shirts of course the music As for the DJ's that are producers there can be points of trying out new music while DJ'ing crowd response good, polish up the track for potential release crowd no like, send it to beatport.

Actually they both do happen together though of course not simultaneously, but that might/is also changing with all these ableton shit.

You have a very simple way of looking at the symbiosis between DJs and producers, and you've also forgotten that most DJs these days produce, vice versa. That's like saying Jeff Mills and Hawtin are just 'playing tunes.' The DJ selects and plays the tunes he likes, the producers hear about it or expeirence people like Digweed weaving their tracks together, so they're ultimately influenced by what they think is THE sound of the moment. How else do you explain the way music and trends have proliferated so much in the past couple of years?

And to say that a DJ, especially someone of Digweed's caliber and status, does not influence or chart music evolution, is again a very straight and narrow appreciation for the scene. Suggest you go read up some Wiki or whatever Dummy's guide you can, or go through Digweed's discography, espeically seminal shit like Renaissance, Northern Exposure, all his GUs, and I just want to add the latest Transitions 4 which I think is really setting a new bar even in the context of his career and mixes he's put out.

True that we're a bit over the top at the moment but don't you ever, ever, go nuts on the floor and dripping sweat and having an aching back and feet because you can't stop and you're thinking WTFWTFWTFWTFWTF?

You give me the impression you listen to music as a sit-down audience or a spectator from a stand. Are you an audience or a participant?

P.S. If you've been following Digweed as long as we have, you'll understand the talk about the hair. ;) We do talk about Tiesto and his underaged wife too if that's more to your palate.

Re: can we stop with the "VORTEX" pls....

Dear JK224

Once again, you are on a board that absolutely IDOLIZES Digweed. Dont bother coming on here and posting nonsense such as "Enough w/ the Vortex".... You obviously have NEVER been in the Vortex... If you had, you'd shut your fucking trap. Its an experience that most of us HARDCORE Digweed fans get to experience at one time or another. So we will go on and on about Digweeds hair (which we all LOVE), and we will go on and on about the Vortex. If you dont like it, dont come on MS which was evolved AROUND the man himself.... The 2nd coming of Christ... John Digweed... So I correct you...... why dont YOU go fuck YOURSELF. Nobody on this board likes a tool.
