Well what happened was the other nite i was thanking threehills in regards to sharing with me that really cool program for mp3 tags. It is the extra long weekend here for me and so i thought i would go out on sat nite and for the rest of my days off to organize my music. Friday nite sat morning i was thanking threehills and i said i would spend the rest of the weekend cleaning up the tags and organize them. sat morning i woke up and yeah my computer was fine. I started downloading a new brendon Moller mix then decided to go for a shower, so i turned my screen off like i usually do when i am downloading something and doing something else.. anyway came out the shower when to turn my screen on and BOOOOMMMM it is not working.. i started to freak.. i tried the plugs and everything.. but nothing was working.. so for the rest of the day i had no computer and i cleaned my house etc.. Man i did not know how hooked i am until yesterday.. And i thought to myself why did this have to happen now when i have this wonderful program to help me organize my thousands of files.. It is all good now i have my bro's screen and i am up and running.. but boy was i feeling withdrawl's from it and it was only for 1 day.. :lol:

It must have been the weekend for computer problems, and yes Johns I now know what that feeling of sheer panic is like. :lol: My Trusty old G4 wouldn't power up. Working on the principle of what did I do last? I removed a new usb hub and it's all working again. :D Taking that hub back tomorrow!! What's your new machine Feather?

You might need to use a powered USB hub instead, if what you're using now is unpowered and it's drawing power from your computer, hence having bootup or device failure problems.

I've had a couple flake out on me before...it works, turn off, turn back on and nothing. Check the connectors, reboot, still nothing. Try another one and hey, it works!

Computers are weird like that, but I love them...what a way to harness that energy and turn it into something that literally puts the world at your fingertips.

...yet it amazes me how many still don't get it or can't figure these things out ;)

Spent yesterday backing up some of my recent music ... rather than doing housework, don't think my girlfriend (who was working)was that impressed - she can't get her head around why I'd spend ages looking for old sets etc.

Fortunately the purchase of a very large easter egg inscribed with "I love you" put things right, and I'm back in the good books.

If you're looking for mp3 taggers. there's a bunch of them in the sticky in the Computer forum. If you're looking for a media cataloger, I used to use WhereIsIt on Windows. I'm looking around for a Mac equivalent now.

When you back up and burn all your stuff to DVD or CDs, the program reads their contents and create catalogs that you can search. Very handy since you can't possibly scribble or label the full contents on the DVD or CD's surface.
