I'm gonna use my Ati coupon and spend an extra $10 (!!!!) to get Half-Life 1:Source and Day of Defeat: Source when they come out. That Gold Edition is a little much. I'll be so busy playing I'll forget about the posters, hat and all that other crap. That thing is made for the [b]serious[/b] fanboy only.

fyi you can download a version of the game using the half-life developers steam program... then on the day of the game you can unlock the version and play... no worrying about a store selling out....

Yeah, that's the route I'm taking. Alot of people on the Steam forums are questioning why you would pay for something you don't actually have. The way I see it, this method does away with discs (which can get scratched and ruined), patches (Steam auto updates when one becomes available), cracks, all of that lame shit. Seeing as how all you are paying for in a game is the Cd key away it just makes a whole lot of sense to me.

Plus...no waiting (for shipping or for it to go retail) or sell-outs, like you were saying.

bad idea; .... as if counterstrike didnt take up a lot of your time already guys? heh... fun stuff but way too addicting man... i'm telling you that shit is worse than drugs... i was a hardcore drugaddict and the time that counterstrike took up was a lot more heh... STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! ;)
