i wanted to isolate a specific sound to use as an intro.

oh you are speaking completely sound wise...i thought you were pulling a beanz.
noise gates are nice, but when you really wanna isolate a sound, nothing works better than really getting into the wav and magnifying it to the extreme and then doing your cuts.

Steve I think you are SOL on this one dude. Using a gate does not guarantee exactly what comes through the gate itself. Are you trying to single out a voice or something?
