From San Diego to Orlando as soon as we get the cargo trailer loaded up. I sure hope my gf appreciates this (it's for her beloved furniture I am driving not flying). I am looking forward to having a valid reason for listening to music for 4-5 days straight however. Anyone have any experience w. this sorta thing? Input welcome

Re: Driving Cross Country

Do you play disc golf? When my buddies and I road trip, we always hit up courses along the way. Great way to get out and stretch your legs and break up the driving.

I think thats the basic stuff covered. Good luck mate

p.s. good music is a must. I would recommend epic sets such as John Digweed Lebanon and Nick Warren tel Aviv to begin with after that anything goes.

Re: Driving Cross Country

We made it from San Diego to Orlando in 3.5 days with stops in Austin, Tx, New Orleans and Panama City. The highlights were: we didn't fight, we had a few great conversations because we had the time to, crawfish are actually insanely tastey, getting out of Texas, driving 32 hours the first night(s), friendly country folk & comedic hillbillies, the car made it with zero problems, epic sunsets, panama city beach was super beautiful and clean, clean air in general. Finding Involver in my center consoul on day 2.

The negatives were: Packed our clothes away and were unable to get to more than one fresh pair:shock:. Truckers in Louisiana were everywhere and the roads really sucked there. Being greeted with a $5.00 toll road charge upon entry into Orange County, FL.

Total cost to move towing a uhaul trailer with a Mountaineer cross-country: $1,000.

Re: Driving Cross Country

My gf took this pic, I was stoked to be less than an hour from getting out of the car/towing combination. Both the trailer and car are packed to capacity, we could have rented a bigger trailer and freeing up room in the car - $240 vs $500+

Re: Driving Cross Country

In Texas, on the 2 way highways, the right hand side really is for slower traffic. If you're going too slow in the left lane and a cop flashes at you, it usually means pull to the right, you're going too damn slow.

On that same note, get out of Texas as fast as you can.
