I would say that maybe your system volume is low. You know that speaker icon down on the right right on taskbar - Start the reason and check the volume settings there.

Reason volume level...
Re: Reason volume level...
Nope Keeper that's not it. The volume is all the way up on my computer and on the Reason Mixer. Help please, anyone?
Re: Reason volume level...
i couldn't tell ya, as I don't use that program. But what kind of soundcard interface are you using, as if you are using your computer's internal soundcard, you're probably not going to get much out of it, well that and your quality of tracks is going to suck compared to having a decent interface.

That would make sense, sorry I'm a noob! What soundcard would you recommend? I really know squat about it so any info would help.:p
Re: Reason volume level...
are you looking to use a USB or Firewire one? That is your first choice. I used to use a USB on my PC laptop, and it worked pretty darn good. I went and got my imac, hooked up my interface and now I have to use the full amount of buffer to get good sound out of it. I really need to get my ass a firewire interface sometime soon. They are just better for macs.

I have some internet researching to do, but from what you said USB sounds good!
Re: Reason volume level...
it's good but not great. But IF you've only got a pc, you will pretty much wanna go with USB, Unless you've got a tower and can do a PCI card, but those things cost more.
Re: Reason volume level...
I had that same problem too. I even have the problem with ableton. However, I do have Cubase SX3 that has a sick multiband compressor that I can run tracks through which also allows me to increase the input volume.
Re: Reason volume level...
their input volume....are you recording your own stuff into it too. One thing that would really help when recording your own stuff...is you need to get a mic preamp. It kinda makes up for the not having a real mixer to go into the computer. It gives you a much higher gain for the mic and can make it sound better than the $30 microphone you bought at Best Buy. LOL.
But yes a pre amp will definitely help you for recording into it...unless you go buy a decent soundcard like Presonus which always has nice class a pre amps.
