For all you love birds out there that will be taking your date out for dinner-

I personally do not enjoy V-day, however this year I have a different set of plans. My grandmother has been sick with cancer this year and was recently in the hospital for a few weeks. I went home to visit her, however the Doctors had her totally dosed up and she was fairly incoherent. In a state of babel, she was able to let me know that we would be spending Valentines Day together and having a spaghetti & meatball dinner. I obliged and got a kick out of it. Now in her soberness, she does not recall the conversation. I still plan on going home either the weekend before or after to cook her a pasta dinner.

even when i had a girlfriend i hated valentines day. it's just another consumer trap to make single people feel like losers and couples to feel obligated to buy meaningless pink bullshit and chocolate for each other.

the cool thing about the girls Ive dated (and most girls imo) is that it really usually is the thought that tends to count, not the $$$ spent.;)
