That's gonna suck big time...

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

Probably an indication of how these things don't sell ... Felix is mates with P Diddy and has a silly name making him marketable - expect future GU's from Tommy Lee and a special Bob Sinclair/DJ Sammy b2b !!

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

This could be the first GU ever I am not even going to check the promo copy out.

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

Everyone over on GU is talking about how FTHC has made great tunes under different aliases - anyone care to name a few????

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

Silver screen was a pretty good tune in the days, but really: who cares about his tunes when you know his sets suck major hairy rhino scrotum?

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

I first saw Felix around 96/97 playing pure chicago house and detroit techno @ Slams night in Glasgow. He was great. He has really gone pop since then.

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

I haven't bought a Global Underground in about 4 years... maybe 5. I certainly won't be buying this one.

Yeah not to excited about this one...

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

Those Boxed dudes aren't even trying anymore. This just continues to cement my opinion of GU.

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

I saw FTHC at 1015 Folsom in SF about 6 or 7 years ago...

He opened up for DJ Dan and he literally train wrecked every single song he tried to mix. It was one of those times where you looked at your friends as he was doing it just to make sure it wasn't you who was hearing it. I kinda felt embaresed for the guy.

then Dan came on and tore the place up! Thank God.

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

for whats its worth, he's got a pretty big following here in SoCal. no kidding:lol:

#963808Post 16 of 111

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

is this even confirmed by GU?

#963826Post 17 of 111

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

He's got a big following everywhere.

He's a real shit dj. I've seen him a few times and it was just a couple of hours worth of train wrecks. This is when he was championing the electro sound. Seriously a 4 year with 10 minutes practice could've mixed better than him.

The last time I saw him he was off the electro wagon, but he was no longer train wrecking.

one more comment about commercially available cd's and this thread is burnt toast!

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

I heard one set of his and all it took was one to realize it was trash. Not that I would buy GU, hasn't been a good one made in a long time.

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

felix fricking blows. bring back the god that is danny howells. i want 24:7 parts II, III, IV, V, VI and VIII. and GU -

#963885Post 21 of 111

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

I think they now pick their DJs by selecting one who hasn't made the DJ Magazine top 150. Just to keep it really underground.:lol::lol:

So anyone who wasn't on the list send them your demos now. It could be you.
is this even confirmed by GU?
Wouldn't matter if it is a different DJ, it'll probably get the same reaction on this board, GU has gone the way of Oakenfold, and BT. Nothing like pissing off a bunch of prog fans with shit releases

I thought Nick Warren's GU 28 &30 were both works of art and Dubfires GU 31 wasn't too bad either.

They were good but forgettable.

The last stunning GU-album was without doubt Miami.

They really need Howells to rescue the series.

Then again, why complain when there are many other great mix series out there like Balance.

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

The remedy is simple - let Martin Garcia make a Mar Del Plata GU .. triple CD or give Rowan Blades a go.

#963994Post 27 of 111

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

He's one guy who needs Ableton Trainwreck phemon Isn't GU about 6 years too late catching on the so called electro fad. The boxed boys must be on crack especially when there so many great new DJ's but of course they are smart and release their own mixes on their own labels nowaday.

#964018Post 28 of 111

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

I don't know but speaking of recent releases i thought that 31 was a pretty fair album....although i think 29 and 30 were both pretty shit. As for Felix doing a G.U. similarly to almost all members of this board I am not optimistic....as for his production skill's he's virgo electro - blacktro or whatever it is called (the latest album) was crap even though it had o.k. reviews in the dj mag

So ... I am def not buying it (but then again I don't buy anything apart from my net connection)

#964042Post 29 of 111

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

I think people are jumping the gun is this info is not even confirmed.

IMO, i can't see how GU would go with Felix, it's utter crap, his style and genre of music is so far from what GU releases are about.

You just described most of the GU releases in the past couple of years

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

oh dear!

guess all good things must come to an end.

but there really is no point flogging a dead horse.

they need to do what renaissance does. put out a commercial series to make some cash and then have the original line doing the business!

#967208Post 32 of 111

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

I really really hope this is not true. Freeland's GU was not my type but i still thought it was a good change, but come on FTHC???

#967505Post 33 of 111

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

saw him a few times several years ago, playing chi house. great times. then that thee glitz cd came out & saw him out playing electro mostly. but trainwrecked & couldnt get it together. wtf?

ah well, def. makes for a different artist, if thats where they are going with it.

I think i will give it a miss and just buy one of the Renaissance Cd's i missed first time around.

Re: Felix Da Housecat To Do The Next Global Underground

if this is true, then i think GU is trying to appeal to the "NuRave-Electro-Indie-Emo" crowd, since acts like Justice and Mstrkrft are doing so good.

fuck GU and fuck all you emo retards, hopefully this crappy wave of tasteless mongoloids will die out quick.

carry on.
