Re: Greetings from Afghanistan!!

Hambino,

Do you have access to new tunes over there? Can you get online regularly to download some new stuff? If not, maybe we can organize a little [ms] care package?

Re: Greetings from Afghanistan!!

The internet sux arse down here, So I don't even try to DL anything. It would be sweet to get my hands on some new some stuff. Part of my job is maintaining a radio studio out here. I have been offered to do my own show but the problem is the fact that i have to follow the DOD playlist which sucks ass, and the fact the the majority of military folks aren't into EDM at all. i'm still thinking that before I leave i'm going to lock the door to the studio and just jam some House music over the Afghan air waves. That would rock.:) But if you feel like sending a musical package that would be awesome! Just let me know. I'll hook you up with an address.

Trust me, I know. Thats why I'm glad i'm a technician and not a freaking broadcaster. At least it gives me something to work with. Noone on the outside wants an Air Force broadcaster.lol But yeah AFN sucks overall. Especially their public service announcement videos, geez.

Re: Greetings from Afghanistan!!

Well Its Sergeant Hambino back with another Afghanistan update. Things are starting to warm up here and i am already sunburnt. Nothing major happening so far but I have seen the true side of certain higher ranking individuals and I feel like i am in the right when I say i wouldn't mind shoving my foot up their arses. It seems that one Chief's office is more important than the sanity of over 10,000 troops. Not going to go into it but you get the gist.
Today was especially weird. I was informed that these guys from Blackwater were stealing cable hardware from existing structures and affecting shitloads of other people. So i sent a nasty gram to the leader of Blackwater, basically threatening to prosecute them over the whole ordeal. When I finally made it down there it seems as though i was given bad info. so i spent the day chillin with these peeps and I got a free t-shirt and i was offerd a flight anytime I needed. funny how that works out. Other than that it has been business as usual. I am finally on the downward slope to my way out of here. It looks like It might be until I get back to civilazation before i can upload any pics. But till next time Tschuss and thanks again for the support peeps.

Later

these are bad ass... did you guys ever run into any trouble while you were in one of these? or did you ever set off your flares? if i were an enemy, i would not want to fuck with this plane. those cannons are serious business.

glad to hear you're safe from your excursion man. looks like things are getting tense over in afghanistan lately.

Actually I don't work on aircraft, we just hooked these guys up so they returned the favor. but I could hear these things doing their thing quite often. They are nothin to mess with.

Re: Greetings from Afghanistan!! (now with pics)

incredible photos hambino.... simply incredible, I have a renewed (and higher) respect for your (and all those in the armed forces) courage. Amazing how a few photos can really change your perspective on things. We're all happy on here you made it in piece back to Deutschland.

That icy photo on the way to Kabul was simply incredible and so was that Kosovo independence day (hope you got some).

Re: Greetings from Afghanistan!! (now with pics)

Amazing photos ... glad to see you are in a far safer zone.

Can anyone send Hambino some [ms] stickers, a t-shirt or (even better) an [ms] flag so we can see where it tours. I'm sure a few of us would chip in donations !
