Trader Joe's 2007 Sonoma County Reserve Zinfandel is ace.

I've been getting into zinfandel a LOT. I can't figure why anyone would prefer merlot or cabernet over zin.

same for pinot noir. also really wonderful, but rarely hear anyone talk about it...

Anything without Sulfites which for us in the USA is near impossible due to some stupid law I think

Been a good weekend for wine.

Fri - nice lighter bodied beaujolais (can't remember the name unfortunately) Sat - '97 penfolds 389 (cab shiraz) full bodied, good amount of rich, ripe fruit, with plenty of oak & tannin on the finish, though lacking the huge amount of complexity the '96 has. Sun - '97 & '98 penfolds 389, with the '98 having a bit more complexity.
