The Scumfrog
It's a group, and they have some pretty good tracks... but I think overall they do some pretty clubby/shitty mixes. It might be worth your time, but my guess is it'll be cheesy. Never seen em live, though, so I could be wrong.
Re: The Scumfrog
Watersong its a killer tune IMO.

It is a quality tune. I think that is the only scumfrog song that I like. The rest of his songs aren't so great.
I really like his remix of Steve Lawler - Andain, also 'Music Revolution was a pretty decent track. His Essential Mix last year was good. Overall I would probably go see him, I like a lot of his stuff, but he can really get cheesy sometimes too. Its like Gabriel and Dresden for me, I like a lot of their stuff, but its either hit or miss.
the worst name in dance music.
^agree. among the worst, along with gabriel and dresden.
huh??? scumfrong is 1 guy Jesse Houk
Sorry dude, you're right. I've seen him with some other artists (some chick) in a bunch of pictures, so just I thought it was a duo. Shows how much I pay attention to 'em.
Re: The Scumfrog
yeah how did he come up with that stupid name "The Scumfrog"
Re: The Scumfrog
I think Scumfrog's quality. He has some great remixes and some great productions and he always bring the energy.
Re: The Scumfrog
think his productions are great, but a bit cheezy in person. lots of energy though
Re: The Scumfrog
I think some of his stuff is cheesy
Re: The Scumfrog
i like how he has his own style even if it does cheese out sometimes
his old tracks are great,, but i heard he wanst that good live.. i havnet heard ne thing new from him thou.. but hey i mean if u do want to waste ur money go ahead..
Re: The Scumfrog
:ChatterB: i heard he adds his own vocals to tracks that seems kinda lame :Who: :HungOver:
Re: The Scumfrog
don't agree "scumfrog is the worst"... his Music Revolution and Annie Lennox's Pavement Cracks remix are among my favourites...
Re: The Scumfrog
I think he needs to change his name......to cheesehead
I think he needs to move to Wisconsin. I like to sip wine while listening to his tunes.

Re: The Scumfrog

Who in the hell was talking about steak?
Re: The Scumfrog
I saw him at Abaya in NYC...
Pretty good live...I guess he might be considered Tiesto lite in a set.
Re: The Scumfrog
i have always wanted to see him....he has been to TO twice in the past six months and from the reveiws he has brought down the house...he had the best set of the night with pete tong, danny howells...sorry all you howells fans but it true...again these are going on the reveiws i have read!
Re: The Scumfrog
yeah he does have a trancier style that is not my preference, but he has dropped a couple killer tunes that i really like
Re: The Scumfrog
i seen him a few years ago in miami during the wmc and he played a great set.
Re: The Scumfrog
I saw him when he opened for Roger Sanchez and enjoyed his set. He can be cheesey at times, but some of his remixes are alright (like Dirty Vegas-Days go by, and Kylie Minoge-love at first sight). The second hour of his essential mix is really really good I think.
Re: The Scumfrog
I like his choice of pumping house and prog tunes....truly a music revolution

Please define 'music revolution'.
Re: The Scumfrog
sick of him. I am also sick of him trying to remix every song that has ever been made. He was pretty cool when he opened for Roger S. way back in the day, but now, Im just tired of his same old crap.
Re: The Scumfrog
His up to come album Simmer isn?t that bad. :Honest:
iio - Made At The End (Scumfrog Remix) (white label), I liked this song, .... Best from him,,,
Re: The Scumfrog
scumfrog has his moments, but he can make u move at a club, he has some good selection
i think he's great. i love to play some of his remixes. i honestly like music revolution, a lot.
Re: The Scumfrog
he is probably sitting in a dark smokey studio somewhere listening to Tiesto's "In Search of Sunrise Vol. 16" and trying to ripp some ideas...
:Bingo: :Bingo:

I was introduced to his manager during WMC 2003...man, they had quite a promotional push going on for him then...posters everywhere of that picture on his "Music Revolution" cover...worked pretty well, there was a lot of talk about him that week. I have yet to see him live, but would like to. I hear he adds live vocals, percussion, and other instrumentation. I agree on the bag of cheetos in his production/remix catalogue, but there are a few real jams in there..."Watersong" was massive; remix of Steve Lawler's "Andante" was huge for me; and I actually kinda liked that Monica "So Gone" remix for a while

Re: The Scumfrog
I have to disagree with some of you guys. Seen him a few times and I think he is very good live. He has a good selection when he plays. He reads the crowd well.....
Re: The Scumfrog
great live sets... gets the crowd into it... he a total ham... don't think he translates well to cd though...
not a big fan.. some of his stuff is pretty good, but if i wanted to hear mary j blige and madonna all day long.. id buy a mary j blige cd, i dont need to hear that rubbish (imo) in sets
